In ancient China,because of the idea that men are superior to women,there are relatively few direct records about women in historical materials and books.However,with the need of the rulers of Ming and Qing Dynasty to stabilize the social order,when the local chronicles were repaired,the biographies of women were listed as an important volume in the local chronicles.While not covering all groups of women,a number of female role models are cited.Through listing the important female materials in women’s biographies,we can study the social situation at a particular time and in a particular area from another angle.Starting with the records of Zhengding Prefecture and Songjiang Prefecture in the Ming and Qing dynasties,this paper makes an overall analysis of the compilation background,social background,the number,types of women and the characteristics of keeping chastity in the two prefectures,this paper probes into the family factors and external factors of the formation of Model Women Group and the influence of Model Women Group on society.The first chapter mainly analyzes the compilation background and the reasons for the selection of Model Women in Zhengding and Songjiang District.The second chapter analyzes the Model Women social background of the Ming and Qing Dynasties,which mainly involves the reward system,political economy,folk culture,the counties under the jurisdiction of the two governments and the population development.In the third chapter,the author compares the number,classification,age,length and ways of Model Women between the two regions,and explores the differences between them under the same selection criteria.The fourth chapter from the Ming and Qing Dynasty Model Women formation of its own reasons to find the difference between the two government of Model Women.It mainly deals with the influence of family environment and society on their behavior.Family factors are divided into: Child discipline,Family Economy,family affection;external factors are divided into: the popularity of the concept of chastity,government incentives,rural public opinion guidance,social unrest.The Fifth Chapter Mainly Discusses The impact of the emergence of the Model Women groups on the local and even the whole society.The positive influence of the formation of Model Women is the practice of hard-working and kind-hearted to families,educating children to become successful and helping others.These positive influences still play an important role in our social relations to this day;their negative effects are the lack of independence,the lack of value for individual life,and ignorant and superstitious behaviour.These negative effects provide a mirror for future generations to recognize and discard these negative ideas and behaviors.
