At the beginning of 2020,a team led by Dr.Bruce Aylward of WHO came to China to participate in some field surveys on Covid-19 and held a press conference in Geneva on February 25 th,2020.This report analyzes a simulated consecutive interpreting task of the Press Conference.Under the guidance of Interpretive theory,this report selects some typical cases and analyzes in detail how to use the theoretical knowledge to guide the practice in the conference interpreting.Under the guidance of interpretive theory,this report selects some typical cases from this interpreting practice,three problems are analyzed respectively,such as some incoherent expressions;the comprehension of some phrases and sentences;some long and difficult sentences.Then corresponding solutions are proposed,such as summarizing useful information and filtering out useless information;closely combining the context and the background knowledge the interpreter has mastered;understanding the real meaning of the source language and then restructuring the sentences so as to deliver a more accurate target language to the audience.Finally,this report summarizes and reflects the problems encountered in interpreting to provide reference for future interpreting task,and thus proposes the enlightenment and prospects for future interpreting work.
