There is an advancing and growing trend toward the integration and globalization of the world economy,which means it is particularly important for us to comply with the current situation and development trends of international trade,continuously focus on and know the dynamics in the field o f international trade,and learn advanced business concepts,which is of great importance for business development of our country.The material,selected from ZPCAS—A New Deal for South Atlantic by Altair Maia,is on the economy,history and culture of Africa and South America.The author uses qualitative analysis and case analysis to explore the translation of English economic texts.This report focuses on the accuracy of vocabulary,structural transformation and diversification of long sentences in the translation of economic texts.For readers,the author tries to explore the translation that combines professional knowledge with popular scientific language.Before translation,the author establishes a glossary of proper nouns,abbreviations,and professional terms after studying a great many parallel texts;during translation,under the guidance of text type theory,he applies literal translation,authoritative fixed translation method,and amplification in term translation.For the translation of long sentences,literal translation and division are adopted;for that of passive sentences,the methods can be summarized as follows: English passive is translated into Chinese passive sentences;English passive is translated into Chinese active sentences.The author has chosen this material for translation to provide reference for practitioners in the field of economy and trade.By analyzing the historical background of the economy and trade of the south Atlantic region,this report discusses the international trade development of the region,expecting to strengthen the trade connection between China and the region,and to facilitate the common development of bilateral relations.At the same time,the report tries to conduct research on translation from the perspective of vocabulary and sentences,and explores specific translation techniques and methods suitable for economic texts,so that reference for translators in economic text translation may be provided.
