| The research of preface and postscript has played an important role within the academic field.The preface and postscript of Yin-pu is called "preface(Xu)" before the body part,and which of the ending section is called "postscript(Ba)".It is the "instruction manual" of Yin-pu results from its describing and introducing function.From the preface and postscript,we can pry into the cultural background and development trend of the author’s time,and have certain document value.The late Qing Dynasty was at the peak of the evolution of seal cutting techniques and styles.The study of the preface and postscript of the late Qing Dynasty is of great significance to the study of seal cutting development,the theory of Sigillography,the life of the carvers and the spread of Yin-pu.The research content of this essay will mainly take the Yin-pu preface and postscript period from Daoguang(1820)to Xuantong(1910)in Qing Dynasty as the research object for analysis and research.This essay mainly include four parts of content.First,the essay would look into the inscription background of the Yin-pu’s preface and postscript during the late Qing Dynasty,and reveal the influence of the factors such as the academic and seal cutting concepts at the time.Secondly,through the analysis of a large number of existing preface and postscripts of late Qing Dynasty,exploring the inscription authors at the time,the composing motivation of Yin-pu and its characteristics of styles and the innovation.The third part mainly studies the thought of Sigillography within the the preface and postscript of Yin-pu during late Qing Dynasty,and clarifies the aesthetic orientation,techniques and evaluation methods of seal cutting in this period.Fourthly,the preface and postscript of Yin-pu during the late Qing Dynasty has important document value as a supplement to the history of Yin-pu and Sigillography,along with limitations,which plays an important role in the study of the relevant problems of Sigillography and Yin-pu in this period. |
