On the basis of thinking about the ontological characteristics of traditional Chinese aesthetics and the crisis of ontological loss presented by Western "problem aesthetics",Chung-ying Cheng started aesthetic research from the perspective of ontology.He proposed "beauty in the onto-generativity",and his aesthetic theory can be summarized as onto-aesthetics.This article analyzes Chung-ying Cheng’s onto-aesthetics from four parts.The first chapter mainly analyzes the realistic background proposed by onto-aesthetics.In the post-modern cultural context where ontology has been dispelled,Chung-ying Cheng turned the focus of aesthetics to the study of aesthetic "ontology" and reconstructed this "ontology".The "ontology" he said comes from the "ontology of the Book of Changes" created by the Chinese "Book of Changes",which is a kind of onto-cosmology.It emphasizes the unity of the human ontology and the ontology of the universe.This "ontology" is an affirmation of the value of human beings and the pursuit of the overall harmony of the subject and object.Therefore,what Chung-ying Cheng calls the "ontology" turn is not to return to the Western Platonic absolute rationale,subject and object "ontology",but to the reality of life and value philosophy created by traditional Chinese philosophy.At the same time,Chung-ying Cheng gave this ontology a knowledge dimension with ontology interpretation.Therefore,Chung-ying Cheng’s "ontology" has two dimensions of value and knowledge.This aesthetic ontology turns to eventually lead to "onto-aesthetics." Onto-aesthetics is not only an interpretation and modernization of Chinese traditional aesthetics,but also a remedy for the crisis of ontological loss presented by Western "problem aesthetics".The second chapter explores the connotation of Chung-ying Cheng’s ontology.Chung-ying Cheng builds his aesthetic research on the basis of his interpretation of ontology.Based on the investigation of Chung-ying Cheng’s discourse on ontology,this chapter reflects his thinking on the creative integration of Chinese and Western ontological ideas.Chung-ying Cheng’s ontology has both metaphysical connotations and moral practical connotations.In his view,the essence of aesthetics is a kind of original feeling of human beings,it is a kind of feeling of life.This original feeling develops into an overall perception through the interaction between the human mind and nature,forming an overall perception of life,this is the body.From the essence to the body is a process of creativity and harmony,as well as a process of life experience,and beauty occurs in this process.Beauty is in the ontology,which we experience from the ontology.The noumenon of beauty can be grasped through the noumenon experience steps of "viewing,feeling,thinking,perceiving and communicating".Chapter Three analyzes the system presented by onto-aesthetics.The first unique feature of Chung-ying Cheng’s onto-aesthetics is that it constructs aesthetics on the basis of ontology,connects aesthetics with philosophy,and connects with people’s deep experience and experience,which expands the depth of beauty.On this basis,the second unique feature of Chung-ying Cheng’s onto-aesthetics is the system shown by ontol-aesthetics.Chung-ying Cheng’s onto-aesthetics has a complete system.This system takes the method thinking of the Book of Changes as the classics,the development of Chinese and Western aesthetics as the latitude,and finally integrates the interpretation from ontology and interpretation of ontology created by onto-hermeneutics.The purpose is to establish a life onto-aesthetics that blends Chinese and Western.The fourth chapter evaluates the onto-aesthetics.Chung-ying Cheng’s onto-aesthetics constructs aesthetic research on the basis of ontology,and uses the thinking and methodology of Chinese and Western philosophy to study aesthetics,bringing aesthetic research back to philosophy,unifying philosophy and aesthetics,and expanding the depth of beauty.Onto-aesthetics analyzes the division of Chinese and Western aesthetics from the root of the ontology,and then seeks the fusion point of Chinese and Western aesthetics at the root,and proposes an aesthetic system that blends Chinese and Western aesthetics,which promotes the communication and blending of Chinese and Western aesthetics.Chung-ying Cheng,as one of the representatives of the third generation of Neo-Confucianism,absorbed the aesthetic thought of his teacher Fang Dongmei,regarded the Book of Changes as the origin of traditional Chinese aesthetics,and paid attention to the way of thinking and methods in the philosophy of the Book of Changes.The absorption and reference of Chinese and Western aesthetics,and the division and convergence of Chinese and Western aesthetics from the perspective of ontology.It can be said that the ontology aesthetics of Chinese and English is a further development of modern Neo-Confucian aesthetics.But onto-aesthetics also has the deficiency of misplacement of phenomenology and ontology.
