A Study On The Application Of Bronze Animal Face Patterns In Chinese Character Font Design In Shang And Zhou Dynasties

Both Chinese characters and animal face patterns are the crystallization of ancient Chinese culture and wisdom.After thousands of years of development and evolution,Chinese characters have become a very mature character system today,with standardized structural relationships,and we are welcoming information.At the same time as the era of modernization and intelligence,the development of Chinese character design has also ushered in new vitality,and various design styles have emerged one after another.Especially in recent years,China has proposed cultural self-confidence,improved cultural soft power,and strengthened cultural output.Today,Chinese characters are inherited from our country.A carrier of traditional culture has attracted the attention of designers.The animal face pattern was a product of the Bronze Age and was popular in the Shang and Zhou dynasties.As a decorative pattern on bronze ware,it conveys a kind of "scorching beauty" and demonstrates the historical power of this period.The animal face pattern is in the current society.It’s just attached to the bronze ware and sleeping in the museum.People lack a real understanding of the animal face pattern on the bronze ware.This article explores the relationship between the animal face pattern and the design of Chinese characters by investigating,analyzing,summarizing and practicing the animal face pattern.Finally,the animal face pattern is integrated into the Chinese character design,which expands more possibilities for the current Chinese character design.This paper is divided into the following five parts for research:The first part: Introduction.Explain the research background and significance of this subject;explain the current research status of animal face patterns and Chinese character design;introduce the research content and methods of the subject.Part Two: An overview of the animal face patterns on bronzes in Shang and Zhou Dynasties.It gives an overview of the animal face pattern,introduces the origin and evolution of the animal face pattern and the artistic characteristics of the animal face pattern on the bronzes of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties.The third part: the analysis of the application strategy of decorative patterns in the design of Chinese characters.In the sense of inclusion,first analyze the commonality between the pattern and the design of Chinese characters and analyze the methods used in the design of Chinese characters through the case study,determine the use of image replacement,continuous brush combination,stroke reduction design methods,and provide the practical part Method support.The fourth part: the analysis of the correlation between the animal face patterns on the bronzes of Shang and Zhou Dynasties and the design of Chinese characters.Through further analysis of the relationship between animal face patterns and Chinese character design,explore the cultural value,internal and external connections of the two,classify and extract the features of animal face patterns on Shang and Zhou bronzes,and provide direction for the design of Chinese characters.Part Five: The application and practice of animal face patterns on bronzes of Shang and Zhou Dynasties in the design of Chinese characters.Explain the design practice process,and show the appearance,structure and complete Chinese character design of Chinese character design.On this basis,the designed Chinese characters are used in other innovative applications.Part VI: Conclusion.This thesis summarizes the origin and evolution process of animal face patterns on bronzes of Shang and Zhou dynasties,analyzes the cultural meaning and external pattern characteristics of animal face patterns on bronzes of Shang and Zhou Dynasties,and analyzes the effects of patterns in Chinese character design from a personal perspective.Application cases and the relevance of Shang and Zhou bronze animal face patterns and Chinese character design,summarize the methods,and finally carry out practical creation.
