| Kingsley Amis(1922-1995)is a famous novelist and poet in contemporary Britain,and one of the representative writers of "Angry Young Men".Kingsley Amis has written14 novels,3 collections of short stories,4 scripts,6 collections of poems and 7 other books.This article will take two "anti-hero" novels written by Kingsley Amis,namely Lucky Jim and That Uncertain Feeling as the research objects,and use the relevant content of the "anti-hero" theory to analyze the “anti-hero” image of the two novels,and further study the specific embodiment of the “anti-hero” image in Kingsley Amis’ s novels,and the significance of the “anti-hero” image created by Kingsley Amis to the society.The introduction first analyzed the research status in China and abroad,mainly about the research direction of Kingsley Amis by China and abroad scholars and research results they have achieved.The second is to define the "anti-hero" theory.It mainly analyzes the connotation and main characteristics of "hero","non-hero" and "anti-hero".And third,explains the research significance and research methods of this thesis.The first chapter analyzes the origin of the "anti-hero" character created by Kingsley Amis.Mainly from the social environment,social cultural atmosphere and Kingsley Amis’ s own life.The second chapter is mainly an analysis of the "anti-hero" image written by Kingsley Amis.It firstly analyzes the "anti-hero" image created by Kingsley Amis,mainly from the three common characteristics of the two novels: the social identity of the "anti-hero" image,the angry way of rebelling against society and the"high-climbing" love of the male "Cinderella",and then analyze and demonstrate the"anti-hero" image in Kingsley Amis’ s novels around the details.Secondly,is to compare the "anti-hero" images created by the writers of "Angry Young Men" and Kingsley Amis,to analyze the similarities and differences between the "anti-hero" images created by Kingsley Amis and "Angry Young Men.The third chapter mainly explains the meaning of Kingsley Amis’ s "anti-hero" characters Through the analysis and argumentation of the first two chapters,we can draw a conclusion: the "anti-hero" image created by Kingsley Amis has enriched the image in the British literature to a certain level;the "anti-hero" image created by Kingsley Amis promoted the formation of a new sense of rebellion.The "anti-hero" image created by Kingsley Amis is very representative.His "anti-hero" image is a rebellion against society and traditional cultural values,and this rebellion conforms to the development of the times.The "anti-hero" image has become a product of the times.The study of the "anti-hero" character image of Kingsley Amis did not only broaden the research space of Kingsley Amis for China and abroad scholars,but also has a certain practical meaning for analyzing the social conditions of the British and the psychological conditions of the people after World War 2. |
