| Significant changes based on information technology and network bring about great changes to education.The Internet+ strategy in China has brought huge space for the English teaching changes in secondary vocational schools.At the same time,China’s Intelligent Manufacturing 2025 Strategy also needs a large number of high-quality vocational skills with a certain English foundation.It is urgent to improve secondary vocational school students’ English learning ability while understanding its current situation is the premise of taking effective countermeasures.Guided by the Constructivist learning theory and Humanism theory,this research takes200 secondary vocational students from Liuzhou No.1 Vocational School of Guangxi Province as the research subjects.It carries out the research with the instruments of questionnaire and interview.The two research questions of this study are:(1)What’ s the current situation of English autonomous learning ability of secondary vocational school students in the Internet environment?(2)What are the factors affecting secondary vocational school students’ English autonomous learning ability in the Internet environment?According to the survey results,the overall situation of secondary vocational students’ English autonomous learning ability under the Internet environment is as follows:(1)The software and hardware education conditions of secondary vocational students’ English autonomous learning in the Internet environment can meet their basic learning needs.But students can not make full use of hardware and software equipment for autonomous learning.(2)Secondary vocational students lack clear learning objectives.(3)There are many learning resources on the Internet,which can arouse secondary vocational students’ interest in learning.Still,the ability of secondary vocational students to use network resources for autonomous learning is insufficient.(4)The ability of secondary vocational students to use learning strategies and methods in autonomous learning in the Internet environment is insufficient,and they can not choose the appropriate learning strategies according to their learning ability.(5)Secondary vocational students have weak self-control ability and are easily interfered with by entertainment information on the Internet.(6)Secondary vocational school students’ understanding of self-evaluation of English autonomous learning is not enough.According to the analysis of the interview results,it is found that the factors affecting secondary vocational students’ English autonomous learning ability in the Internet environment include two aspects which are internal factors and external factors: the internal factor is that English language proficiency,English learning motivation,learning efficacy and self-control ability;external factors mainly include external support and learning resources.In view of the findings of this thesis,the researcher puts forward the following implications:(1)For students,implications include optimizing the concept of autonomous learning;strengthening learning motivation;formulating clear learning goals and learning plans;selecting appropriate learning resources,and efficient learning strategies;strengthening self-control ability;strengthening self-evaluation awareness and improving self-evaluation ability.(2)For teachers,based on the Constructivist view of teachers,they are supposed to show students high-quality online English learning resources,timely update their knowledge base,consciously use the multimedia equipment provided by the school,help students make detailed and reasonable English learning plans,and carry out certain learning strategy training for students,so as to strengthen the autonomous learning ability of secondary vocational students.(3)For schools,it is necessary to set up computer rooms and electronic reading rooms reasonably,improve the construction of school network facilities,and open the campus network to students free of charge.They should provide courses related to information technology and organize teachers to build English learning resources with regional characteristics.(4)For parents,they should pay attention to their children’s learning situation at school in time.They should give their children some support and encouragement to students’ autonomous learning to improve their children’s ability to use the Internet environment for autonomous learning. |
