As a collection of pre-Qin poetry inclined to realism,most of the images in The Book of Songs have practical significance.As a result,the images related to phenology in The Book of Songs have a deeper meaning,and become another proof of the social system,customs and other humanities and Social Sciences in the pre-Qin period The Book of Songs includes folk songs from all over the world,reflects the social reality in a wide range of time and space,depicts the culture of different regions,and reflects the different customs and habits of different places in the pre-Qin period.In the process of summing up the phenological images in The Book of Songs,this paper respects the time sequence of phenology,uses the time span represented by different phenological images as the classification basis,and uses other weather phenological images and some special phenological images to divide them into five categories: Phenological images of time in a day,phenological images of month,phenological images of special time,four seasons phenology image,weather phenology image.The image of time phenology in a day expresses people’s thoughts and feelings in a short time,and more people’s cognition of life and time in pre–Qin Dynasty.These poems express the view of life and death that life is short and happy,or describe the anxious state of mind of the wanderer in the hard time.The monthly phenology image reflects that in the pre-Qin period,people refer to the phenology of each month in the nature,and give different humanistic colors to different months.Marriage and military have their own time,and live alone with Chinese characteristics.The special time phenology image recorded many historical events in the pre-Qin period,or the solar eclipse triggered people’s dissatisfaction with the tyranny,or used the special time stars to accurately judge the location,which reflected people’s cognition of the nature in the pre-Qin period and combined it with social activities.The four seasons phenology image shows the different humanistic features of the four seasons in the pre-Qin period,and expresses the seasonal consciousness of the Chinese people,who live in spring,grow in summer,harvest in autumn and collect in winter.The weather phenological imagery embodies the pre-Qin people’s obsession with rain,which is related to the water situation.To study the extended meaning of such phenological images in the poem,except that the "Rainbow" in Di Dong uses double connotations,and its obscure connotation "violating etiquette and obscenity" has nothing to do with rain,the other phenological images are direct expressions of weather.The description of phenology in The Book of Songs has a far-reaching influence on his contemporaneous works and later literature,but its influence is different in different stages.In the pre-Qin period,except that The Book of Songs was often quoted to explain and prove his point of view in the Confucian classics,The Book of Songs was rarely quoted to prove his point of view in other scholars’ prose.Besides,all the other schools except Confucianism,even if they quoted poems in their works,the quoted poems cannot be found in The Book of Songs,which can be regarded as one of the evidences of Confucius’ collation of The Book of Songs.From the perspective of its influence on later generations,the phenological narration in The Book of Songs contains people’s unconscious appreciation of the beauty of nature,laying the foundation for the rise of landscape poetry in later generations.Later generations of literati continue to use this method of comparing landscapes with mountains and waters.With the awakening of literary awareness,the landscape and pastoral garden became a conscious subject in Wei and Jin Dynasties and became a new world for literati to relax themselves.
