The microstructure is “the internal design of entries”.Learner’s Dictionaries of Chinese as a Foreign Language(LDCFL)are the indispensable tools for non-native speakers of Chinese. Therefore, the quality of its microstructure is especially important for non-native speakers of Chinese.Psychological verbs have many senses and complex functions. It is difficult for non-native speakers of Chinese to grasp their meanings and usages. Therefore, psychological verbs have become key and difficult points in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Relevant studies have explored psychological verbs from different perspectives, but there is still space for further study.Hence, the study on the microstructure of psychological verbs in LDCFL based on the user’s perspective has theoretical and practical significance. In this study,a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods will be adopted. To start with, this study chooses 31 psychological verbs from Syllabus of Graded Words for Chinese Proficiencies(SGWCP)as the research objects.Secondly, the microstructure of 31 psychological verbs in four LDCFL will be studied to find the similarities and differences.Through analysis, this paper finds that the four dictionaries have significant differences in microstructure(including annotation system, definition system and example system).First of all,in terms of the annotation system,a small number of entries were marked with the wrong part of speech. Some dictionaries have marked morphology;there is a lack of pragmatic information.Secondly,in terms of the definition system, there is no statistically significant difference on the division of meaning items, because they are mainly based on Modern Chinese Dictionary. Most dictionaries lack syntactic information. In terms of the example system, some examples are too long. The microstructure is incomplete. Finally, this paper attempts to combine the communicative theory of lexicography with the user’s perspective, and comprehensively constructs a new mode of microstructure. The new mode contains six principles: the adaption principle, the closed principle, the economic principle, the simplicity principle, the relevance principle and the user-friendly principle. In this way,the mode of microstructure is optimized. This study not only improves the microstructure of the psychological verbs in LDCFL,enriches and expands the communicative theory of lexicography, but also helps to improve the compiling quality of LDCFL and promote the development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
