As a public compulsory course generally implemented by colleges and universities,College English shoulders an important mission.However,in actual teaching,College English has not received much attention,especially the homework part,which have even been seriously ignored.This is especially true for college English listening and speaking homework because of its particular form.In 2020,the new version of the "College English Curriculum Requirements" once again emphasizes the requirements for the cultivation of college students’ English listening and speaking ability.Therefore,teachers should design College English listening and speaking assignments in accordance with the specific requirements for language ability in the three-level goal of College English teaching,practical application-oriented,and focusing on training language ability.At present,the rapid development of the mobile Internet,the substantial increase in the ownership rate of intelligent mobile devices,and the development of mobile learning follow the trend,providing convenient conditions for people’s learning,and also providing a platform for learning and communication for teachers and students in school.According to the existing research,there are not many researches on mobile learning in College English teaching,and there are fewer researches focusing on homework,which provides a lot of room for thinking in this research.Therefore,it is necessary to investigate the current situation of the current College English listening and speaking homework design,to find out the current problems of non-English majors in the English listening and speaking homework,as well as the teacher’s situation in the listening and speaking homework design process.Then,based on the survey results,combined with the advantages of mobile learning,some optimization strategies are proposed.Provide some feasible paths for optimizing the design of College English listening and speaking homework,and help college students improve their English learning efficiency and English listening and speaking ability.This research first sorts out and analyzes the related research of mobile learning in homework design,as well as the related literature of College English listening and speaking homework design,and understands the current research status of mobile learning and English listening and speaking homework design.The necessity and feasibility of the combination of College English listening and speaking assignments are analyzed to provide a theoretical basis for teachers to develop College English listening and speaking assignments based on mobile learning.Through a questionnaire survey of587 non-English majors from four universities in Chongqing and interviews with 6first-line college English teachers,we learned about the current situation and problems in the design of College English listening and speaking assignments,as well as the level of understanding of mobile learning for teachers and students.Then,through the analysis of data,the survey conclusions are drawn.Finally,with the help of survey results and mobile learning,this study proposes six targeted strategies for optimizing College English assignment design: to update the design concept of College English listening and speaking assignments,to clarify the design requirements and principles of college English listening and speaking assignments,to establish a real-time and interactive evaluation feedback system,to improve teachers’ information literacy,to cultivate students’ autonomous learning ability,and to optimize mobile learning resources and platforms.
