The Narrative Study Of Tujia People Writer Chen Chuan’s Novels

Since the New Age,as urbanisation and modernisation continue to accelerate,minority literature has been blossoming in a hundred different ways,and minority writers have become increasingly aware of their ethnic identity,with more and more outstanding works.The Tujia literature is of vital importance to the entire minority literature.Chen Chuan is an excellent representative of the Tujia writers,and his fiction is deeply rooted in the soil of the ethnic group,caring deeply for the Tujia people of this land and portraying the real and beautiful human conditions of the Tujia family.He is an observer of the people and things in this land,not only concerned with the survival plight of the Tujia people,but also deeply concerned with their spiritual plight.Through an analysis of the narrative strategies of Chen Chuan’s novels,this paper explores the uniqueness of Chen Chuan’s narratives and searches for the historical and cultural values of the Tujia people and the aesthetic and artistic values embedded in the novels.The thesis is divided into three parts: the introduction,the body and the conclusion.This thesis intends to study Chen Chuan’s short and medium-length novels from the perspective of narrative theory,in an attempt to find the narrative characteristics of Chen Chuan’s novels in the context of Tujia culture.The introduction introduces the significance of this thesis,the current state of research,the research methodology and the innovations.The text includes four chapters,the first chapter: Chen Chuan’s novel creation from the perspective of Tujia culture.This chapter mainly introduces the relationship between Tujia culture and Chen Chuan’s novels,and analyzes the uniqueness of Chen Chuan’s novels.Chapter two: The narrative theme of Chen Chuan’s novels under the background of Tujia culture.This paper mainly explores the theme,meaning,thought and emotion of Chen Chuan’s novels from the three themes of "survival","love" and "culture" of Tujia people.Chapter three: the multi practice of Chen Chuan’s narrative strategy.This chapter is divided into two parts.The first part focuses on Chen Chuan’s use of the first person retrospective narrative perspective,the second person restrictive narrative perspective and the third person omniscient perspective in his short stories.Chen Chuan’s novels make full use of multiple narrative strategies and the writing of Tujia culture,which makes his novels produce a unique narrative effect.The first person retrospective narrative perspective can shorten the distance between readers and enhance their reading experience;The second person restrictive narrative perspective can better reflect the tragic real life and morbid spiritual life of Tujia people;The third person omniscient narrative perspective is conducive to fully show the Tujia people’s character and long history and culture.The second part is the diversification of narrative structure,focusing on the analysis of the structure of Chen Chuan’s novels,which is mainly chain structure and circular structure.The structure of Chen Chuan’s novels is changeable,which shows the beauty of the form of his works.Chapter four: The exploration of ethnic character of Chen Chuan’s novel narrative strategy.This chapter is divided into two parts.The first part mainly analyzes that the narrative discourse in Chen Chuan’s novels is achieved by the narrator and the "implied author".The narrator and the "implied author" in Chen Chuan’s novels have very obvious historical and cultural characteristics of the Tujia,as well as the tendency of ethnicization.The second part is about the ethnic characteristic of narrative time and space.It mainly analyzes the two important narrative elements,time and space,which are fully used in Chen Chuan’s novels.The third part mainly discusses the value and limitation of Chen Chuan’s exploration of narrative art ethnic characteristic.Through the analysis of the above four chapters,and using Chen Chuan’s novels as the entry point and applying narrative theory,we try to find the narrative uniqueness of Chen Chuan’s novels in the context of Tujia culture,and attempt to find the unique aesthetic art of Chen Chuan’s novels.The concluding section concludes the text by discussing the narrative characteristics of Chen Chuan’s novels and exploring the deeper ideological and emotional values of the Tujia people in his works.
