The Marine Literary Creation Of Nitta Jiro “Coral” | | Posted on:2022-03-26 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:H Jiang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2505306491957769 | Subject:Japanese Language and Literature | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | As a popular writer in the period of Showa,Nitta Jiro has won the "Naoki literary award" and "Yoshikawa Eiji literary award",and has a place in the Japanese literary world.Because of the mountain works in his early works,Nitta has won the reputation of "mountain writer".However,he was not satisfied with this title for quite a period of time.In order to get rid of the shackles of this title,he made many attempts in different directions.Marine novel is one of his key fields,and "Coral" is the main representative achievement.The novel "Coral" is based on the sea disasters that happened in Japan’s Goto Islands in 38 and 39 years of Meiji,which caused great casualties.It tells the romantic story of coral fishermen’s life and death and success or failure in the sea during that period.In recent years,the literature research with "Marine Literature" as the key word has attracted the attention of many scholars,"Japanese marine literature" has become a hot topic in the field of Japanese literature research.At present,there have been many discussions on the macro topic of Japanese marine literature in the academic circles of China and Japan,and many valuable achievements have been made in the theoretical construction.However,there are few researches on the detailed analysis of specific marine literature works based on these theoretical achievements.It can be said that there is still a huge gap to be filled in this field.The most efficient way to study Japanese marine literature is to explore the characteristics of Japanese marine literature,analyze the writer’s marine consciousness and the deep ideological connotation behind marine literature.Based on the detailed experience of island investigation,Nitta Jiro’s coral combines many classic elements of marine literature,such as ocean,island,sea people and shipwreck,into the plot narration,aiming to restore the original life of the sea people represented by coral fishermen,so as to make the whole work overflow the strong ocean flavor.Referring to the relatively authoritative definition of "Marine Literature" in Chinese and Japanese academic circles,I believe that "Coral" can be classified into the field of marine literature,and is quite typical.The analysis of "Coral" in this paper is guided by the general theoretical achievements that have been obtained and widely accepted by the Chinese and Japanese academic circles.It aims to contribute to the improvement of the current situation of the shortage of research results in specific texts of Japanese marine literature.The main body of this paper is divided into four parts.The introduction first explains the content and background of the topic,roughly sorts out the main research results of the writer Nitta Jiro and the novel "Coral",and roughly analyzes the value and possible innovation of this paper.The first chapter mainly introduces the life and literary creation experience of Nitta Jiro,briefly summarizes the real situation of Japanese coral trade and maritime meteorological disasters in the Meiji period,and clarifies the relationship between historical reality and literary creation.The second chapter analyzes the marine elements contained in the novel from three aspects: marine style,island customs and sea ethnic groups,and discusses the typicality of "Coral" as a marine literature work.The third chapter summarizes the complex feelings of the sea people for the sea through the interaction between people and the sea in the works,and combines the classic sea related stories in Japanese mythology with the anecdotes about the sea in the Five Islands area in the novel to interpret the marine complex of the Japanese nation. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Nitta Jiro, "Coral", Marine literature, Shipwreck on Goto islands | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
