Research On Historical Weekly Of North China Daily

As a column of North China Daily,Historical Weekly was sponsored by the students of the Department of History of Peking University,edited by Yang Xiaozeng and Fu Anhua.It was founded on September 6,1934 and stopped on July 8,1937,with 144 articles in a total of 143 issues.The main features of Historical Weekly are as follows:First,it revived the debate and continued the previous debate on the history of the development of The Social History of Controversy.The main topics of the debate were the causes of feudal society,the stages of slave society,the similarities and differences of production methods between slave society and feudal society.The second is the Research on Chinese Social and Economic History,which mainly included the study of ancient Chinese social life,social customs,social organizations,economic system,mass riots and so on.Third,it led The New Historical Construction Movement,criticized both textual criticism school and historical materialism school,hoped that the new historiography could synthesize the advantages of the two schools.At the same time,it also emphasized the social function of historical research.It is also a scholar and a statesman.As a supplement to a peer newspaper founded by students of the Department of History of Peking University,Historical Weekly not only provided students with a platform for academic publication,but also reflected the academic trend and mainstream trend of historiography at that time,so it has certain academic value.
