| Perceived discrimination is one of the biggest stressors for migrant children, and implicit learning attitude is an important influencing factor for junior high school students’ academic behavior. It is necessary to explore the relationship between perceived discrimination and implicit learning attitude of migrant children in junior middle school. There is a close relationship between temperature metaphors and social emotional metaphors.Individuals always use temperature metaphors to understand abstract social emotions, which suggests that temperature metaphors may modulate the effect of perceived discrimination,a social cognitive variable,on implicit learning attitudes. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of temperature metaphorical manipulation in migrant children, then investigate the role of physical and psychological temperature manipulation in the relationship between perceived discrimination and implicit learning attitudes in migrant children. In the pre-experiment 1,120 migrant children were selected from a public middle school with local or non-local rural household registration as the screening criteria to explore the effect of physical temperature and gender on the food preferences of migrant children. In this study,a 2(gender: male,female)×3(physical temperature:hot,cold,neutral)×3(food preference: hot, cold, neutral)mixed experimental design was adopted,in which the physical temperature priming material are temperature discourses of about 50 words, and the food preference was represented by the average9-point preference score of the subjects on the food pictures. In pre-experiment 2,118 migrant children were selected from a public middle school to explore the effect of psychological temperature and gender on the food preferences of migrant children. In this study,a 2(gender: male,female)×3(psychological temperature: warm,cold,neutral)×3(food preference: hot, cold, neutral)mixed experimental design was used,in which the mental temperature priming materials are three kinds of mood induced materials, and the food preference was represented by the average 9-point preference score of the subjects on the food pictures. In Experiment 1,120 migrant children(60 high perceived discrimination and 60 low perceived discrimination)were selected from a public middle school by using the individual perceived discrimination questionnaire,in order to explore the effect of physical temperature on the relationship between perceived discrimination and implicit learning attitude. The study used a 2(perceived discrimination: high,low)×3(physical temperature: hot, cold, neutral)intersubjective design,in which the physical temperature priming material are temperature discourses, and the implicit learning attitude was measured by The Extrinsic Affect Simon Task(EAST).In Experiment 2,108 migrant children(54 high perceived discrimination and 54 low perceived discrimination)who did not participate in Experiment 1 were selected from a public middle school by using the individual perceived discrimination questionnaire,in order to explore the effect of psychological temperature on the relationship between perceived discrimination and implicit learning attitude. The study used a 2(perceived discrimination: high,low)×3(psychological temperature: warm, indifferent, neutral)intersubjective design,in which the mental temperature priming materials are three kinds of mood induced materials, and the implicit learning attitude was measured by EAST.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Gender did not affect the body temperature sensation of migrant children.(2)Physical temperatures can manipulate the body temperature of migrant children.Hot priming will lead to the body heat sensation, cold priming will lead to the body cold sensation, and neutral priming will not affect the body temperature sensation.(3)Psychological temperatures can manipulate the body temperature of migrant children.Warm priming will lead to the body heat sensation, indifference priming will lead to the body cold sensation, and neutral priming will not affect the body temperature sensation.(4)Under the condition of physical cold priming, the effect of perceived discrimination on implicit learning attitude of migrant children was significant, and the implicit learning attitude of migrant children with high perceived discrimination was lower than low perceived discrimination.(5)Under the condition of psychological indifference priming, the effect of perceived discrimination on implicit learning attitude of migrant children was significant, and the implicit learning attitude of migrant children with high perceived discrimination was lower than low perceived discrimination. |
