| Illicit drug abuse and addiction have long been a medical and social problem that needs to be addressed.According to the bidirectional relationship theory, researchers generally believe that drug addiction and emotional processing are mutually affected. Therefore,it is important to improve the emotional processing of drug addicts in order to help them prevent relapse. However, most previous studies have focused more on the cognitive activities of drug addicts,or just on the behavioral level of their emotional state, while few studies have explored the underlying brain activity and how to improve their emotional processing ability. And the processing of that emotional stimulus. The event-related potential technique, which has a high temporal resolution, can well explore the characteristics of brain activity in the face of emotional stimuli.A pre-and post-intervention test design will be used in this study,Methamphetamine addicts were given exercise interventions for up to 16 weeks, compared with those who did aerobic exercise and those who did not exercise. To explore the improvement of neuromuscular training on anxiety, depression and other negative emotions in addicts, and to analyze the changes of brain activity characteristics brought by exercise intervention combined with ERP technology. This article will be discussed in two studies.First, study one will explore how neuromuscular training affects and alters different emotions in methamphetamine addicts. The second study focused on the negative emotions and explored the effects of neuromuscular training on negative emotions with different valence. In study 1,Compared with aerobic exercise group and control group, neuromuscular training significantly increased N2 amplitude in frontal region of Methamphetamine addicts induced by high arousal positive pictures, and significantly reduced the level of anxiety and craving. In the neuromuscular training group,N2 amplitude of high arousal positive images was significantly positively correlated with the scores of the State Trait Anxiety Scale. Results of study 2 showed that after the exercise intervention, both groups had a shortened response time to negative emotions, and had decreased degree of depression, and an increased amplitude of P3 in the posterior part of the brain. What’s more,N2 responses in the frontal region were significantly higher in the aerobic group after the test, and the extremely negative N2 component after the neuromuscular training group was more isolated from the other emotion. The conclusion shows that neuromuscular training interventions can help methamphetamine addicts process positive emotions better, separate negative emotions, and inhibit extreme negative emotions, which may be the reason of addicts for reduced negative emotions, lower levels of anxiety and depression, and reduced cravings for medication. |
