| As a kind of teaching behavior,teachers’ encouraging behavior can not only affect students’ learning motivation,learning attitude,self-confidence and other emotional factors,but also affect the teaching effect,classroom atmosphere and teacher-student relationship.This requires junior high school English teachers to use encouraging behavior correctly,constantly check themselves,find out and solve the problems in the teaching process,so as to stimulate students’ learning motivation,create a vivid and friendly learning atmosphere,maintain a good teacher-student relationship and achieve the best teaching effect.This thesis focuses on the following two research questions: 1.What problems do the junior high school English teachers have in using encouraging behaviors? 2.What influences do the junior high school English teachers’ encouraging behavior have on students’ self-efficacy?This thesis can be divided into the following three stages: First,the theoretical preparation stage.At this stage,researcher plans to read a lot of relevant domestic and foreign literature,summarize the current situation of the research on teachers’ encouraging behavior,summarize the connotation,types and related theoretical foundations of teachers’ encouraging behaviors,and determine the goals and content of this research on this basis;Second,the practical investigation stage.At this stage,this research selects teachers and students of a junior high school in Lanzhou as the research subject and adopts the basic steps of action research accompanied by questionnaire survey,interview,classroom observation and teacher’s logs,so as to explore and answer the research questions through three action circles.Third,the summing-up stage.In this stage,this thesis identifies six problems existing in junior high school English teachers’ encouraging behavior,further analyzes the reasons,and puts forward seven countermeasures.Based on these analyses,this thesis summarizes the influences of teachers’ encouraging behavior on students’ self-efficacy;Finally,this thesis puts forward the deficiencies in the research process. |
