Research On Narrative Art Of Qiao Ye’s Novels

Qiao Ye is a famous "post-70s" female writer in contemporary literary circles.Her novels are rich in content and profound in meaning.On the basis of keen observation of life,she writes complex people and things,skillfully combines the narrative art and spiritual connotation of the novel,so as to achieve the unity of thought and artistry.This ingenious combination is not only reflected in the creative theme of the novel,but also in the narrative strategy of the novel.At the moment,the academic research on the narrative art of Qiao Ye’s novels focuses on a certain angle or a work,the research is not deep and the results are scattered,and the narrative art of her novels is not systematically expounded and taken care of as a whole.Thus,this paper will cut into from the perspective of narratology,try to study the whole of Qiao Ye’s novels,carefully explore the narrative art contained in her novels,and dig into the practical significance of the novels.The main section of this paper is composed of three chapter: the first chapter mainly researches the narrative theme of Qiao Ye’s novels.According to Qiao Ye’s continuous exploration of the theme of novel creation,this part mainly researches from three aspects:personal growth,urban-rural contradiction and historical reflection.The second part mainly discusses the narrative strategy of the novel,starting from three aspects: narrative angle,narrative space and narrative significance.First of all,the use of female perspective and children’s perspective in narrative perspective can narrow the distance between readers and texts,thus arousing readers’ attention and thinking about novel characters,and the use of multi-character perspective shows complex society and human nature.It expands the narrative pattern of the novel.Secondly,the narrative space of the novel is explored from two aspects: physical space and psychological space.Qiao Ye chose his familiar living environment —— the small town of northern Henan as the macro-physical space of novel creation.Her narration focused on the fate of people in the city and the countryside,and made great efforts to shape the two physical spaces of room and train.At the same time,Qiao Ye also constructs the psychological space of the characters through concrete things,showing the flow of the psychological consciousness of the characters.The choice and construction of the story space often has some symbolism,which usually constitutes a metaphorical relationship with the characters.Finally,the narrative function of the image in the novel is analyzed from three aspects: the image condenses the poetic meaning,the image condenses the desire subject,the image implies the plot development.The third part mainly explores the narrative significance of Qiao Ye’s novels from three dimensions: the presentation of compassion,the excavation of shame consciousness and the reflection of cultural dilemma.The purpose of Qiao Ye’s novel creation is not only to limit the reader to the superficial reading,but also to convey a symbolic spiritual core to the reader,thus forming a deep text meaning.
