From Moscow to Petushki,Pushkin’s House and Walk with Pushkin can be described as the originators of Russian postmodern literature. From the perspective of Russian literature, the characteristics of the creation of the work are indeed different from classic literature or traditional literature. From the perspective of Soviet and Russian history, the novels were born in a very special historical environment,Soviet society in the 1970 s was full of repression and contradictions. While describing the reality, writers also think about the past, they inherited part of the connotation of Russian classic literature and integrated his own special request in the profound historical and cultural context of Russia, thus forming a unique Russian postmodern literature. This thesis takes From Moscow to Petushki,Pushkin’s House and Walk with Pushkin as the objects of study, which represent the pioneering work and the origin of Russian postmodern literature. The introduction will roughly introduce the life of the three writers and their research backgrounds at home and abroad, they are not self-conscious postmodern writers, but they have obvious postmodern characteristics in their work. The first part analyzes the social background and cultural trends of thought during the creation of the work, which is embodied in the social problems of the Soviet Union and the new concepts of literary and artistic thought,so as to illustrate some of the objective conditions that contributed to the creation of the three novels. The second part analyzes the characteristics of the work, the writer’s aesthetic standpoint and intention from the narrative approach. It can be found that the work has obvious post-modern narrative techniques, but the standpoint shown by the theme of the text is special, and it has a duality in the pursuit of aesthetic significance,on one hand,it is consistent with the requirements of postmodernism for deconstruction and destruction,on the other hand,it clearly expresses the expectation for construction and the future, this duality comes from the profound Russian realism literary tradition and historical cultural tradition. The third part starts with the theme and character images of the work, connects and compares it with Russian realistic literature, analyzes how they were related to traditional literature from the aspect of aesthetic pursuit.Traditional literature gave the work a sense of rebellious and reflective spirit,as well as realistic meanings, which are transformed into deconstructive forces with post-modern characteristics, they also keep some classic propositions in traditional literature, such as the pursuit of morality, goodness and eternity, forming a non-postmodern expression. In the fourth part, starting from the historical and cultural dimension, from the two aspects of religious narration and unique wine culture, the text of the work is analyzed, the Orthodox faith and vodka constitute an important part of the Russian cultural tradition, and the resulting irrational narration accords with the deconstruction purpose of the work and has achieved a certain postmodern effect. The expectation and pursuit of eternal faith makes the text reflect the expectation of "construction".The contradiction between them makes the work shows a double aesthetic pursuit.Through these analyses,it further explains the uniqueness of the postmodern characteristics of the work. Finally, through the discuss and analysis of the full text,it summarize the postmodern and non-postmodern characteristics of the three novels, which makes the early Russian postmodern novels different from the western mainstream postmodern literature, and is inspirational for postmodern literature around the world.
