A Report On The Translation Of The Hitchhiker’s Guide To Flow Chemistry (Excerpt)

Flow chemical process engineering technology is the way of chemical process innovation,which opens a new era of green chemistry.This report is an English-Chinese translation practice of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Flow Chemistry that is from the American chemical society peer-reviewed scientific journal-Chemical Review and presents a critical review to flow chemistry in the past five years,for follow-up experts and scholars to point out the direction of research,which is of great significance for reference.This report is divided into four parts: the first part is the task description,the second part is the translation process description,the third part is the case analysis,and the fourth part is the conclusion.The task description mainly introduces the original text,the objective and significance of translation practice.The process description includes pre-task preparations,problems encountered in translation practice and quality control after translation.The part of case analysis discusses the application of Peter·Newmark’s communicative translation theory and text typology theory in this translation practice from the lexical,syntactic and discourse levels.The conclusion mainly summarizes the translation process,problems solved by translation skills,aspects for further improvement,and the outcome the author gained from the translation practice.
