Exploration And Practice Of Dunhuang Mural Modeling Language In Contemporary Painting

Chinese traditional culture is extensive and profound,painting art is also unique,with a heavy historical and cultural heritage.Dunhuang mural is an important part of Chinese traditional painting and the crystallization of Chinese culture.The Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties belong to the derivative period of Dunhuang mural.During this period,foreign Buddhism and local culture were combined to make the mural have a complex and different beauty.With the development of globalization,the art exchanges between China and the West are close,the types of art begin to blur,and the boundaries of art begin to disappear,but this "blur" and "disappear" are only relatively speaking.The uniqueness and difference of art can not be changed.Due to the strong impact of western painting,many Chinese contemporary painting creators began to learn and imitate western painting,thus ignoring the excellent traditional culture.By analyzing the modeling language of Dunhuang Mural,and enumerating the ways of borrowing the modeling language of Dunhuang Mural by Gu Liming,Li Xuefeng,Zhao Peizhi and other contemporary Chinese artists,and combining with my own painting practice,we find the similarities in color,line,material and plane in painting creation.Then combined with the comprehensive analysis of the development of contemporary society,the purpose of this paper is to apply the unique modeling language of Dunhuang murals to contemporary painting in order to enrich the diversity and comprehensiveness of painting art and expand the expression of contemporary painting.Make up for the lack of localization spirit of Chinese contemporary painting.Contemporary painting needs to be in line with the times,into the contemporary society,at the same time need the support of excellent traditional culture,only the art works full of rich cultural background,can be more profound.
