| The intercultural communication ability is the core ability in the cultivation of Masters of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages(MTCSOL).The ability is put in the overall cultivation research,most of them focus on the theory of intercultural communication,lack of systematic targeted research and practical ability cultivation,less empirical research.Cultural intelligence is the ability of an individual to operate and manage effectively in the multicultural environment.It is a multi-dimensional structure of multi-cultural communication for different races and nationalities,including four dimensions: metacognition,cognition,motivation and behavior.Cultural intelligence is dynamic and can be cultivated.We can improve the intercultural communication ability of Master students of TCSOL by improving their cultural intelligence.However,as a new indicator of cross-cultural ability,cultural intelligence has not received effective attention in the field of Chinese international education.Based on the fourdimensional Cultural Intelligence Scale(CQS)developed by Earley and others,this paper takes X University of Jiangsu Province as an example to investigate the cultural intelligence of Master students of TCSOL.According to the survey results,the ability of cultural intelligence of Master students of TCSOL in this university is the highest in metacognitive dimension,and the lowest in cognitive dimension.It shows that Master students of TCSOL have a strong crosscultural awareness,but lacks knowledge of social customs,economy and law of the target country.According to the results of regression analysis,the level of foreign language has no significant effect on the cultural intelligence of Master students of TCSOL,but the duration of cross-cultural experience and cross-cultural experience in different regions have a comprehensive impact on the cultural intelligence of Han master students.On this basis,the following suggestions are put forward,1.Having a correct selfawareness,with the help of four-dimensional cultural intelligence scale to test their own cultural intelligence,in order to determine the starting point and focus of training.2.Increasing the knowledge reserve,improving the knowledge reserve of other cultures and deeping the understanding of Chinese culture.3.Cultivating the positive thinking mode and empathy ability of master students of TCSOL to overcome their egocentrism and resistance.Improving the cultural intelligence of motivation dimension.4.The language courses for Chinese master students must be targeted.In order to understand the learners’ interlanguage,master students of TCSOL should understand the language users’ habits of expression and thinking.5.Increasing the practical courses in the intercultural communication course for master students of TCSOL,changing the current situation of theory courses.Constantly adjust their behavior in the actual communication or observation to comprehensively improve their cultural intelligence. |
