Research On Mental Health Of Grassroots Police From The Perspective Of Occupational Stress

Grassroots police are an important support for maintaining national stability and development,and a series of mental health problems caused by their long working hours,complicated contents and great stress have attracted much attention.The economy of yibin gongxian county is underdeveloped,and the proportion of police-population is low.Under this background,how about the psychological status of grassroots police and how to solve the problems in a targeted way.Therefore,this study conducted the investigation by combining questionnaire survey and interview,trying to clarify the current situation and provide reference cases for better coping and solving similar problems.In this study,230 grassroots police in Gongxian county were selected as research objects,and their mental health,stressors and stress perception were measured and counted by questionnaire survey and random interview.On the basis of reliability and validity test,statistical comparative analysis was conducted according to the survey results under different dimensions and different background variables,and the percentage contribution of different stressors to the total stress score was ranked.Meanwhile,Peterson correlation analysis was used to quantitatively analyze the statistical correlation between mental health,stress source and stress perception.In August 2019,230 questionnaires were distributed in the field survey and 63 grassroots police were randomly interviewed.After statistical analysis,the research results are as follows.(1)The mental health level of the grassroots police is low,and mental health is closely related to the gender,marital status,age,educational background,police type and position of the studied subjects.Men are better at coping with work stress and are therefore less stressed than women.Marriage mainly affects the mental health,work tasks,social life and power motivation of grassroots police.Age and education were linked to stress perception and mental health.Different kinds of police occupation stress has the obvious difference,the security police and the criminal police face greater stress.The composition of the stress in different positions is different.The stress in higher positions comes from mental health and power motive,while the stress in lower positions comes from work and management.(2)the results of stress source analysis show that the occupational stress of the grassroots police mainly comes from the work task,power motivation and organization management.(3)there is a very significant negative correlation between the mental health of grassroots police and occupational stress and stress perception,and the total score of occupational stress and pressure perception show a very significant positive correlation.With the increase of occupational stress,the social life,power motivation,ability stress,negative emotion and management pressure of grassroots police will increase accordingly.Occupational stress is closely related to power motivation and organization management.In the study area,the grassroots police are under great professional stress,and mental health level is negatively correlated with occupational stress.We propose to further the reform,improve service effectiveness,allocate tasks scientifically,optimize the assessment mechanism,attach importance to mental health,deal with pressure cooperatively,treat the police better and protect their legitimate rights and interests,so as to deal with the existing problems.
