A Preliminary Study Of Xixia Official Seal

Xixia Dynasty was an ethnic regime,which founded by Dangxiang.It clung insignificantly to the edge,and existed mire than 190 years.Dangxiang people have created a splendid culture and left a large number of cultural relics,They has vital significance to investigate Xixia Dynasty’s political system,administrative system and historical evolution.Xixia Dynasty official seal,a typical representative of Xixia Dynasty remains,which are significant materials to research the social form and political system of Xixia Dynasty.Through collecting and sorting out the remains of Xixia Dynasty official seals,this paper discusses the features of Xixia Dynasty official seals,such as its shape,characteristics,etc.On the basis of features,the author will reclassify Xixia Dynasty official seals as leaders seals into three types,which conclude "Zheng" leaders’ seals adds up names,leaders’ seals adds up names and only names.The author analyzes the similarities and differences of the three types,explains the relationship between "Zheng" leaders’ seals and leaders seals The author also analyzes the reasons briefly.At the same time,combined with relevant historical materials,the author introduces some special seals in detail,and proves that the system of Xixia Dynasty was imitated Song Dynasty from the perspective of official seal.Compares Xixia official seals with Tang and Song official seals,the author reveal the inheritance and development of Xixia Dynasty official seals to Tang and Song official seals.Due to historical and geographical reasons,Xixia official seals mostly take Sui and Tang Dynasties as their characteristics,and at the same time,they are deliberately different from Song seals.Finally,the author expect to interpret the official seals of Xixia dynasty.The author expect to interpret the official seals of Xixia Dynasty and their cultural information,and come to some different conclusions from the predecessors.
