This study aims to explore the influence of uncertainty on death anxiety and its mechanism, understand the level of death anxiety among college students, and further explore the influencing factors,so as to conduct effective intervention in the later stage. In the form of questionnaires,1000 questionnaires were distributed to college students in a university in Shanxi, and 944 valid questionnaires were collected.First, the levels of death anxiety in 944 college students were classified using an individual-centered potential profile model.Secondly,by using the method of questionnaire,we explored the chain mediating effect of self-esteem and worry on the relationship between uncertainty and death anxiety. Finally,in the third study,we analyzed the mediating effect of worry and negative attentional bias on the relationship between unacceptability of uncertainty and death anxiety. This study unbearable uncertainty scale(short version),self-esteem scale, concerns about scale,Pennsylvania, multidimensional death anxiety scale and positive negative attention to scale as a research tool, through the questionnaire survey of 1000 college students, using the latent profile analysis, structural equation model and regression analysis and other statistical methods, the following conclusions.1.The multidimensional Death Anxiety Scale questionnaire can divide college students into three categories.944 subjects were divided into low, medium and high levels of death anxiety.Among them, the number of individuals with low death anxiety accounted for 18.88% and 179;Medium death anxiety accounted for 57.76% of the total number,551;Individuals with high death anxiety accounted for 23.36% of the total population, which was214.2.In study 2,the results showed that:(1)The correlation analysis showed that the intolerance of uncertainty was positively correlated with worry and death anxiety(P <.001),and negatively correlated with self-esteem(P <.001).Self-esteem was negatively correlated with worry and death anxiety(P <.001).There was a significant positive correlation between worry and death anxiety(P <.001).(2)Intolerance of uncertainty not only directly predicts death anxiety, but also influences death anxiety through two indirect effects, namely, the single mediating effect of worry and the chain mediating effect of self-esteem and worry.3.In the third study, the results showed that :(1)unbearable uncertainty could positively predict death anxiety even after controlling self-perceived physical conditions.(2)Intolerance of uncertainty indirectly affects death anxiety through the mediating effect of worry, which is mediated by negative attention bias.Compared with individuals with higher negative attention bias, indirect effects were more significant for individuals with lower negative attention bias.(3)The direct effect of unbearable uncertainty on death anxiety was moderated by negative attentional bias.Compared with individuals with low negative attentional bias, when the negative attentional bias was high, unbearable uncertainty had a significant effect on the prediction of death anxiety.
