Economic globalization has strengthened cooperation and exchanges among countries as never before,and language is a tool to smooth the world.Dalian University of Technology’s Chinese Enhancement Project opens a channel for Chinese learners to learn language.The project stipulates that participants should stick to the "language pledge" and improve their Chinese level in an immersive teaching environment.Communication strategy is an important factor in cross-language communication,and it is beneficial for language teachers and partners to understand the common communication strategies used by Chinese learners.Based on the significance of CS in second language acquisition,this article reviews the relevant literature,combined with existing theoretical foundations,and deeply studied the CSs commonly used by learners in the project.The article is mainly based on case studies,supplemented by interviews.The case study based on the Chinese Intensive Program of Dalian University of Technology.It takes learners of different levels and classes as the research object.It studies the performance,frequency of CSs usage,and the reaction of language teachers or partners when learners adopt CSs.The relevant cases are sorted out and analyzed.The interview method is based on the Nakatani’s CS Questionnaire,which is designed and interviewed separately for language teachers and partners.The case analysis and the conclusion of the interview are basically the same,that is,the Chinese learners in the Chinese Intensive Program language students often use the reporting strategies and avoidance strategies,and the help-seeking strategies and reporting strategies are often used in the language partner communication.The full text consists of six chapters and is written on the following aspects:Chapter One introduces the background,problems,methods,purposes and significance of the article,and reviews the literature on CSs at home and abroad in recent years;Chapter Two is the theoretical basis of the research,focusing on the definition,classification of CSs,and its significance to the communicative subject;Chapters 3 and 4 write a large number of cases based on Tarone’s classification model;Chapter 5 analyzes the content of language teachers and partners interviews;Chapter6 proposes practical and operable suggestions for the language teachers and partners of the project according to the CSs usage of learners.This paper summarizes the use of Chinese learners’ communicative strategies in Chinese intensive projects,and puts forward suggestions on several communicative subjects,providing a new perspective for teaching and communication of short-term language projects.After investigation and analysis,it is considered that the most commonly used communication strategies of learners in the project are reporting strategies,switching strategies and help-seeking strategies.The frequency of female communication strategies is higher than that of male.Avoidance strategies are seldom used by learners at all language levels.Reporting is commonly used by advanced level learners,and higher than that of male learners at lower level.However,learners’ use of communication strategies in different language environments is basically the same,but there are differences in the frequency of use.
