Symbol Application And Narrative Expression In Painting

Human civilization has never out of symbols,symbols are painting as an important tool to interpret and construct the meaning of the painting,the narrative as an important branch of semeiology,emphasize the close link between symbols and narrative,which makes the paintings of narrative expression can need not too much depends on the complicated plot,but strengthen for the use of symbols.In this paper,the definition of symbol and narrative is briefly described respectively from the perspective of semiotics and symbolic narratology,and then the symbolic presentation in painting and narrative expression in painting are analyzed in combination with painting works.This paper analyzes the relationship between symbols and narration in paintings by using the related concepts of symbolic narration,and explores the inspiration and application of symbolic narration in personal creation by combining the interpretation of symbolic narration in classic works.
