This report is based on the third session of the Forum for World Education held in Paris in December 2019.The whole simulated interpreting practice took the form of simultaneous interpretation from English to Chinese. The Forum for World Education,a non-profit organization officially established in 2019,is the first authoritative communication platform dedicated to solving global education problems. This corpus will help audiences understand the situation of education in countries and the direction of educational reform.Prosody is an inherent feature of language,a regular, staged element of change embedded in the way people express relevant content.Language prosody can be divided into natural prosody and meaningful prosody from the phonological and semantic levels.Given the different prosodies between English and Chinese,it is crucial to achieve the prosodic coordination between the target language and the source language. This report is divided into four parts: task description, process description, case analysis and summary. The analysis is the most central section, focusing on the characteristics presented by the source language at two levels: natural prosody and meaning prosody. The natural prosody in this report includes pauses and speed changes;the meaning prosody includes repetition of information and juxtaposition structure. The interpreters used prediction, waiting, and additional translation. The interpreter adopts such interpreting strategies as prediction, waiting,as well as augmentation and omission,in order to achieve coordination between the source language and the target language in terms of prosody and to achieve the principle of coordination in simultaneous interpreting. It is hoped that it can also provide experiences for interpreting learners and their practice.
