| This article takes the social appellations in the "Modern Chinese Dictionary"(7th Edition)and "New Mandarin Daily Dictionary" as the research objects,using a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods,as well as a combination of description and interpretation to explore the differences in social appellations between the mainland and Taiwan from different perspectives,explore the reasons for the differences in social appellations in the two dictionaries,It is expected to provide reference for the systematic research and lexicography of differences between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.The main content of this article is divided into four parts.The first part is the second chapter,which analyzes the general picture and characteristics of social appellations in cross-strait dictionaries.The two dictionaries included about 3000 social appellations,1,785 social appellations of the same form,and the social appellation terms of the separate dictionaries.The Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th edition)had 1545 articles.The new edition The Mandarin Daily Dictionary has 1270 entries.The social appellations collected in the two dictionaries are mainly two-syllable and three-syllable,and the number of social appellations with single syllable and four syllables and above is also roughly the same.The two dictionaries contain a certain number of social appellation terms with the same meaning and form.According to the definition and communicative function of social appellation terms,they can be divided into title appellation terms,social appellation terms,relational appellation terms,general appellation terms,and attitude evaluation.There are seven types of appellation terms,respectful appellation terms and characteristic appellation terms.When analyzing the social appellations in dictionaries,this article finds that the two dictionaries have their own characteristics in the collection of social appellations."Modern Chinese Dictionary"(7th edition)has many dialect and colloquial words in social appellations,and it also includes some words in Western letters.Among the social appellations included in the "New Mandarin Daily Dictionary",most of the historical inheritance words are included,and some commonly used abbreviated social appellations are also included.The second part is Chapter three and Chapter four,analyzes the differences in the correspondence between nouns and actuals and the difference in the number of nouns and actuals in social appellation terms on both sides of the strait.The differences in the actual correspondence of social appellation terms on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are divided into two types: social appellations with the same name but different real names and social appellations with the same real name and different names.Same name but different real social appellations include some different real appellations with different meanings and completely different real appellations with completely different meanings;same real different social appellations include some different name predicates with different morphemes and completely different constructs different completely different name predicates.The difference in the number of social appellations between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait is divided into a multi-subsidiary social appellation and a multi-subsidiary social appellation.A multi-semous social appellation is embodied in two types: one side is a multi-substitution appellation and both sides are a multi-situ appellation.Through the investigation of the semantic evolution of the cross-strait multisemous social appellation,it is found that this type of social appellation.The diachronic evolution of the language can be divided into three categories: one or both sides have added part of the new meaning,one or both sides have eliminated part of the old meaning,and the meanings of both sides have split.The difference between one and more social appellations is mainly a one-to-many relationship.Through the analysis of the word-making motivations of such social appellations,it is found that there are three main situations: different structural morphemes,differences between abbreviations and original forms.The difference between ancient and modern inheritance.The third part is the fifth chapter,according to the definition and communicative function of social appellations,it classifies the social appellations peculiar to mainland and Taiwan.The fourth part is the sixth chapter,which explores the reasons for the differences in the social appellation terms of the two dictionaries from the external and internal reasons of the language.The external reasons for the differences in social appellations between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait are mainly caused by the influence of historical culture,social background,life philosophy and dialect environment,the internal reasons for the differences in social appellations between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait are mainly the differences in the formation of morphemes and the differences in abbreviations. |
