Xiao Tong(501-531),the eldest son of Xiao Yan,was born in Nanlan Ling(now Danyang,Jiangsu). As the leader of the literary world at that time,Xiao Tong occupies an important position in the history of Chinese classical literature. The Zhao ming wen xuan edited by Xiao Tong is not only the earliest surviving collection of poems and essays in my country, but also created a new discipline. His poems and essays were compiled and compiled and called Zhao ming tai zi ji,which is an extremely important document for studying Xiao Tong at this stage.Zhao ming tai zi ji has been spreading for a long time, and there are many versions. The early editions consist of ten volumes compiled by Liu Xiaochuo and 20 volumes compiled by Xiao Gang, both of which have been lost.So far in the Song Dynasty,Yuan Shuoyou has engraved the five-volume Zhao ming tai zi ji,and the subsequent editions have been more or less influenced by Song Chunxi’s edition. However, they are not identical and there are many different texts. In addition, some of Xiao Tong’s poems and essays are found in other books, such as Yi wen lei ju,Wen yuan ying hua,Yue fu Poetry Collection and so on.The poems and essays of Xiao Tong included in these classics may be derived from the Zhao ming tai zi ji or have other sources,so the versions of the Zhao ming tai zi ji are very complicated. This article collects as much as possible the existing editions of Zhao ming tai zi ji,sorts out and collates each edition one by one,and analyzes the different texts.Combining with the research on the titles, layouts and predecessors’ results, this article has an overall review of the editions of Zhao ming tai zi ji.With regard to Zhao ming tai zi ji,this article examines its origins and divides it into three major systems: five volumes, six volumes, and Qi shi er jia ji’s editions. It also analyzes in detail the origins of the Zheng de version and the Korean version. The various editions of Zhao ming tai zi ji have a clearer context. In addition, through sorting out and collating 79 poems and essays, this article draws the following conclusions: First, although Zhou Man’s edition originated from Song Chunxi’s edition, there are still errors and cannot be regarded as equivalent to Song Chunxi’s edition.Secondly,Zhou Man’s,version is the origin of the Korean version.,but Korean version’s preface and postscript are more complete than the Zhou Man’s.It is speculated that the Korean block copy should also refer to other editions of Xiao Tong in the process of publishing.Thirdly,Ye Shaotai’s version is more complete than Zhou Man’s,but it exists for completeness.Fourthly, the Qi shi er jia ji’s version compiled by Zhang Xie can clarify the fallacy, and it is a more refined version.Through the analysis of the various editions of Zhao ming tai zi ji,this article clarifies the source relationship between the various editions as a whole, and provides a more reliable documentary basis for reading Zhao ming tai zi ji.
