Research On The Creation And Communication Of Female Images In Ki-duk Kim’s Movies

Ki-duk Kim’s movies show the attention to marginal characters,thinking about human nature,interpretation of desire,and exploration of patriarchal feminism.At the same time,the movies use violent language,time and space repetition,aphasia,imagery and other expression methods.These all works have formed a unique "Ki-duk Kim Movie." It is also in this thinking and exploration that Ki-duk Kim’s movies have shaped many typical female characters with different personalities.They play a vital role in these movies narrative and plot promotion,and also form clearly visible categories and main characters.The shaping technique is extremely rare in the creative career of other directors.This paper attempts to analyze the causes of the characteristics of Ki-duk Kim’s movies from the perspectives of his turbulent national destiny,patriarchal social system,and tortuous personal experiences.Through text analysis,the female images in Ki-duk Kim’s movies are divided into sacred girls,vengeful gods and fallen angels,and the methods of shaping these female images are summarized,such as imagery symbols,time and space repetition,aphasia,tragedy narrative and visual pleasure.Finally,through the case analysis of the movie "Pieta" and the qualitative research method of in-depth interviews,This paper tries to study the dissemination and communication effect of the female images in Ki-duk Kim’s movies among Chinese audiences,with a view to providing reference for the female image building in the future films and the study of Ki-duk Kim’s movies.
