| This article combines the Semiotics Theory of Susan K.Langer to interpret Dickinson’ s poetry from the perspective of “symbolic aesthetics”.At the symbol types,Dickinson’ s poems mainly uses the image symbols and visual symbols.Image symbols are divided into“general image” symbols and “artistic image” symbols.Due to the influence of Emerson and his transcendentalism,as well as the love for nature,the natural image symbols are the most frequently used in the “general image” symbols,which reflect her harmonious and coexistent view of nature.The death of relatives and friends,the American Civil War and the religious environment have caused Dickinson’ s attitude towards death to undergo three changes,the death has become the most typical “artistic image” symbols in her poems.The visual symbols are analyzed from three aspects: the point of color symbols,the line of punctuation symbols and the surface of typesetting,to interpretation the visual beauty of Dickinson ’s poems.In terms of the artistic expression of symbols,Dickinson combined various types of symbol systems to produce a certain aesthetic effect.Dickinson is good at choosing some unconventional image symbols to write novelty and writing conventional image symbols to express the sense of distance,makes “general image” symbols strangeness.Dickinson also pays attention to presenting inner emotions and philosophical thoughts,she always uses the“general image” symbols to express the “artistic image” symbols that are difficult to grasp accurately,makes the concrete expression of the “artistic image” symbols.Dickinson designs the color symbols that include the different color systems or the different colors of the same color system with skills and ease.The above are all based on the author’s creation,and from the perspective of readers’ acceptance,Dickinson’ s poetry also shows a certain aesthetic effect in terms of the aesthetic acceptance of poetry.Getting the symbols is divided into two steps: first is the overall perception to obtain artistic symbols,and next,the general symbols are obtained in the process of further logical understanding.After that is the cognition and interpretation of the poetry text.Dickinson ’s poems have no titles,so it is more helpful for readers to carry out diversified interpretation based on their own emotional experience,thereby enabling Dickinson’ s poems to continue to extend,enduring for a long time,and exerting the value that transcend the regions,periods and culture. |
