In order to fully implement the task of building up people by virtue,try hard to create“Three-wide Education” situation and train socialist builders and successors who have developed in all aspects of moral,intellectual,physical,and labor,we should do ideological and moral education in English teaching on higher vocational colleges.As the constituent part of higher education,doing ideological and moral education in English teaching on higher vocational colleges is very necessary.The paper mainly adopts document study,comparative analysis and Questionnaire to investigate current situation on ideological and moral education in English teaching on higher vocational college students based on utilizing and absorbing other experts and scholars’ theory.It finds out the problems,analyzes and puts forward perfect countermeasures in order to provide reference and help when integrating ideological and moral education in English teaching on higher vocational colleges in the future.The paper is mainly divided into 5 parts.The Introduction mainly states the research background and meaning,related concepts and the current research situation.The second part states the necessities of doing ideological and moral education in English teaching in higher vocational colleges from implementation of the goal of creating a better person and carrying out the Ideological and Political Concept of Curriculum.The third part states the content of ideological and moral education in English teaching in higher vocational colleges,including philosophy,ideal and faith,patriotism,Socialist Core Values and civic morality.The fourth part analyzes problems and causes of integrating ideological and moral education into English teaching in higher vocational colleges comprehensively.Firstly,English teachers’ moral education consciousness is to be improved.Secondly,teachers’ mining ideological and political elements when teaching English is not enough.They are as follows: focusing on language skills while overlooking ideal and belief education;attaching importance to western culture while ignoring patriotism education;paying attention to western value while belittling education of socialist core value;thinking highly of scores while looking down on civic moral education and etc.Meanwhile,the methods of integrating ideological and moral education are simple.The reasons are as follows: English teachers own weak awareness on Three-wide Education.They do not own initiative on ideological and moral education take moral education seriously.What’s worse,they do not have creative ideas when teaching.The fifth part conclude systematically the count measures from 3aspects.Firstly,teachers’ ideological and moral education should be intensified.Secondly,the content of students’ ideological and moral education should be improved from building correct philosophy,setting up lofty ideals and beliefs,developing and expanding patriotism and Socialist Core Values and deepening civic morality.Lastly,teaching path of moral education should be combined from professional knowledge,Chinese culture,current hot spots and social practice.
