| In the Yuan Dynasty,Shi Dagui wrote a book called Mengguanji.Shi Dagui,styled himself Hengbai,common surname Liao,is from Quanzhou Jinjiang.History of Kaiyuan temple in Wenling,Supplement and continuation of monk biography volume twenty four,He Qiaoyuan’s Min History volume one hundred and thirty-seven,Yangsiqian’s Wanli Quanzhou History volume twenty four and so on,all of this are briefly record Shi Dagui’s life,but there is no record of the release of the date of his birth and death,it’s not clear who he’s been with in his life and where he’s been.The first chapter mainly discusses the year of his birth and his intercourse.The author drew inspiration from some of the Mengguanji works,which recorded the year of writing,and make a reasonable judgment about the date of his birth.As for the date of death,the author also deduced the approximate date by referring to the fact of social turmoil in Quanzhou in the Yuan Dynasty Zhizheng period through some poems in the Mengguanji.As for Shi Dagui’s interpretation of the communication,from the poems he wrote for his friends,establish a circle of friends,in order to better understand his behavior and life.The second chapter mainly discusses the editions of Mengguanji.Now we can no longer see the first edition of the Mengguanji at the end of the Yuan Dynasty.There are eight other known species: One is Chongzhen(1628-1644)edition of the Ming Dynasty,twenty-four volumes.This collection was lost in china.The fifth collection of foreign han books in the region was photocopied from the Japanese document library;One is the Qing Dynasty Sikuquanshu,five volumes of poetry;One is the Hanlin Courtyard transcript in the Qing Dynasty,five volumes,in Taiwan Central library;One is a movable type copy of Gong Xianzeng,five volumes,preservation of National Lbrary of China and library of Xiamen University;One is Fu Zengxiang transcribed from the text of the Wenyou hall,not divided into separate volumes,an uncompleted book,stored in the China National Library.Besides,there are copies of Lu Xinyuan,Gong Xianzeng and Wen You hall editions,but I don’t know if it exists.This chapter makes a detailed investigation of these editions of the Mengguanji,in order to clarify the status of each edition and its inheritance.This paper also sorted out the Biography of Ziyunkaishi,another work by Shi Dagui,elaborated as much as possible on the edition of Biography of Ziyunkaishi.In the academic history,some people confused the Shi Dagui’s Mengguanji and Shi Shouren’s Mengguanji and this chapter will discriminate this phenomenon.On the basis of a detailed introduction of the life of Shi Shouren and the contents of his Mengguanji,it carefully compare the difference between the two books,reveal the fact that the two books just have the same name.The third chapter analyzes the poetry creation of Shi Dagui.Through the analysis of his representative poems,it is observed that his poems which concerned about the sufferings of the people,respond with friends and landscape pastoral views,all make a strong position.In particular,his poems which describing the sufferings of people’s livelihood and various conditions of life have broad realistic and profound social significance.It not only reflects the poet’s concern for the present world,which is different from other poets and monks,but also reflects the living conditions of the lower class people in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties.The last chapter discusses the documentary value of the twenty-four volumes of Mengguanji.First,from the perspective of a monk,Mengguanji records the drought in Quanzhou in the Zhizheng fourteenth year,and also records the unrest in Quanzhou,from the Yuan Zhizheng seventeenth year to the twenty-sixth year.During this period people lived a miserable life,a large number of social historical materials have been preserved.It truly reflected the political and economic conditions of the Yuan Dynasty.Second,Mengguanji contains articles written by Shi Dagui for his family,teachers and friends,it was preserved a large number of historical figures information.It is an important material for further research on his family origin,monk experience,friends’ life and other aspects. |
