A Study On The God Beliefs Of The Coastal Guards In Southern Fujian (1368-1666)

At the beginning of the Ming Dynasty,the coastal areas of southern Fujian were not amenable.Based on the needs of coastal defense,the Ming government set up military facilities such as Guards,Battalion,and Maritime forts along the coast of southern Fujian.Since the establishment of the Coastal Guards in Southern Fujian,the deities’ beliefs in the Guard Station city have been in a state of continuous change.This article focuses on the god beliefs of the Coastal Guards in Southern Fujian,focusing on the development of the beliefs in the history of the Coastal Guards in Southern Fujian from the beginning of the Ming Dynasty to the abolition of the Qing Dynasty.The thesis mainly involves the establishment of the Coastal Guards in Southern Fujian,the establishment of the official worship temples of the Coastal Guards in Southern Fujian,the evolution of the beliefs of the Southern Fujian Coastal Guard Station from the middle to late Ming Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty,the main characteristics and social functions of the god beliefs of the Coastal Guards in Southern Fujian,and focuses on the analysis of the changing process of the god beliefs of the Coastal Guards in Southern Fujian.Finally,through a general analysis of the changes and development of the gods ’beliefs in the South Fujian Coastal Guards,the characteristics of the gods’ beliefs in the South Fujian Coastal Guards are summarized.It has social and environmental impacts.At the same time,the spiritual beliefs of the Minnan Coastal Health Center have military,mixed military,and regional characteristics,and play a social role in providing spiritual pillars,participating in social education,and leaving spiritual wealth.
