At present,China is vigorously promoting the process of digital development.In short,digital development refers to the transformation of the traditional economic and social structure with IT technologies and the reshaping of the organizational relationship and production mode.Therefore,speeding up the development of digitalization will of course lead to the rapid development of IT projects.Under this background,it is of great practical significance to translate a theoretical guide book related to IT project management.The source text of this translation practice is the first five chapters of Project Management Handbook written by Wutter Baars.This handbook is the training materials for the digital transformation process in the translator’s company.It not only contains a general description of traditional project management,but also focuses on the IT and software development project management.The source text of this translation practice is the text of science and technology.The translator adopts Nida’s theory of functional equivalence as the guide of translation,emphasizing the closest natural equivalence between the target language and the source language,so that the target readers can get the similar reading experience as the original readers do.Through this translation practice,accurate information is finally conveyed to the target readers for learning.This translation practice report analyzes typical cases at lexical,syntactic and textual levels and discusses how the translator employs different translation methods or techniques to adjust the translated text,achieving functional equivalence to a certain extent.At the method level,the translator adopts translation methods such as literal translation and liberal translation.At the level of technique,the translator adopts translation techniques such as voice-changing,readjustment,negation and literal translation with explanation.It is hoped that this report can provide some reference for the translation of texts of science and technology in the future.
