| In response to the new trend of education informatization,learners’ demand for entertaining and entertaining,and the online teaching carried out during the new crown epidemic,educational games are undoubtedly a good learning tool for learners.Educational games can stimulate learners’ learning motivation,improve learners’ innovative ability,and promote learners to form a positive learning attitude.However,the positive impact of educational games requires good design.After analyzing the current research status of educational games at home and abroad,it is found that the main problems existing in educational games are: learning content and game presentation form are single,learning methods are boring,which leads to an imbalance between the educational and game aspects of educational games.Therefore,in view of the problems of educational games,this article starts from the perspective of educational game design.First,it combines the implicit learning theory with the basic stages of the teaching process to construct a TPIL educational game design framework,and proposes corresponding educational game design principles and development model.Secondly,based on the design principles and development model of the TPIL framework,using game development tools such as Unity and My Sql,this article designed and developed an English educational game for school-age children—— "Happy English House";Finally,using a single-group experimental model,combined with questionnaires,pre-test and post-test,interviews and other forms,using SPSS software to analyze the acquired data,in order to summarize the learning effect of the research object after using the educational game to learn.Through empirical research,it is found that after students use the educational game designed and developed based on the TPIL framework,their academic performance is significantly improved;in terms of learning ability,the students ’ability to learn independently and the ability of students to learn in the short term are improved significantly.Ability that can be quickly improved during the period(such as English listening,writing,speaking);in terms of learning attitude,it has cultivated students’ interest in learning,strengthened their enthusiasm for learning,and helped students establish a correct learning attitude.The TPIL educational game design framework constructed in this article and the educational game design principles and development models proposed in this article have reference significance for educational game designers and developers,and provide a theoretical reference and basis for the good design and development of educational games;The "Happy English House" game developed can increase learners’ interest in learning,and can also be a tool to assist educators in teaching,which is conducive to promoting the development and application of educational games;At the same time,the research methods and results obtained in the empirical research process also provide references for empirical researchers of educational games and provide effective arguments for the further development of educational games. |
