Research On Historical Suspense Novels In The New Century

At the beginning of the 21 st century,the historical mystery novel,as one of the branches of mystery novel,rose and developed,especially its adaptation of film and television dramas was hot in the Chinese cultural market,which once again aroused everyone’s enthusiasm for historical suspense.Taking the historical mystery novel in the new century as the research object,this paper makes a concrete analysis from four aspects: creation background,plot mode,characters and narrative art,so as to gain an overall understanding of the characteristics and value of the historical mystery novel in the new century and provide a useful reference for its future creation and research.The thesis consists of three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction focuses on the key words such as "historical suspense",clearly defines the concept of "historical mystery novel",combs the research status of mystery novel and historical mystery novel,and further expounds the significance and research methods of this paper.The text is divided into four chapters: The first chapter explores the background reasons for the development and prosperity of historical mystery novel in the new century from three angles of culture,audience and media,and discusses the inheritance of ancient Chinese traditional culture,the reference of foreign suspense works and the integration of creative elements of genre novels by historical mystery novel from the perspective of cultural and literary resources.The second chapter grasps the narrative content of this new type of novel as a whole,and explores the basic framework of the story and the internal logic of the plot advancement around the puzzle mode,dilemma mode and opposition mode.The third chapter focuses on the characters in the historical mystery novel,and shows the diversity and uniqueness of the characters in the historical mystery novel through the analysis of three typical images: those who set up the game,those who broke the game and those who helped,and explores the author’s concern for individual survival and his thinking on human nature.The fourth chapter explores the narrative artistic features of mystery novel in the new century history from three aspects: freely switching narrative perspective,flexibly changing narrative time and precisely arranged narrative structure,and excavates the commonness and individuality of its writing form.The conclusion summarizes the value of historical mystery novel in the new century,and puts forward the possible shortcomings.The paper holds that the historical mystery novel in the new century,as a new type of mystery novel integrating suspense narrative technique and Chinese traditional cultural resources,not only conforms to the diversified development trend of Chinese mass culture,but also meets the spiritual and cultural needs of the people.Meanwhile,the reflection on human nature and the sustenance of humanistic spirit in it further explain the creator’s sense of mission and responsibility,thus enriching the connotation of historical mystery novel in the new century.
