Teachers are in the front line of education industry.Influenced by social,school and personal factors,teachers are prone to job burnout.Its negative influence will directly involve teachers themselves,students,schools and even the whole society.In recent years,under the background of quality-oriented education reform in China,teachers as the main part of the teaching reform,have been under more and more pressure in their own quality,system and mechanism,employment system,quantitative management and other aspects.However,among the junior high school teachers,due to their professional particularity,such as extroversion,strong sense of autonomy,high threshold of employment,narrow channels of promotion,professional neglect and other reasons,the problem of job burnout of junior high school English teachers is becoming increasingly prominent.Chongqing is the only municipality in the western region and has been listed by the National Development and Reform Commission as "the pilot area for the comprehensive reform of national coordinated urban and rural education".Therefore,it has become urgent to study teacher burnout from the perspective of junior high school English teachers and improve the quality and level of education.The study takes 117 junior high school English teachers of five middle schools in Chongqing as the research object,through literature research,questionnaire survey and the combination of in-depth face to face interviews.The study will explore the current situation of job burnout of junior high school English teachers in Chongqing and analyze influence factors from the perspectives of gender,marriage statues,education background,teaching years,professional title,salary,workload per week,being a head teacher or not.At the same time,combined with the special regional factors of Chongqing to analyze,the study will discuss the measures to alleviate and prevent teacher burnout,and provide reference for junior high school teaching in Chongqing.This research is divided into four dimensions:(1)What is the current situation of job burnout of junior high school English teachers in Chongqing?(2)What are the adverse effects of job burnout of junior high school English teachers in Chongqing?(3)What are the causes of job burnout of junior high school English teachers in Chongqing?(4)What are the strategies to prevent and relieve the job burnout of junior high school English teachers?After completing the questionnaire and one-on-one interview,the author used SPSS26.0 software to analyze the relevant data and drew the following conclusions:The degree of emotional exhaustion of junior high school English teachers in Chongqing is not high,female teachers are higher than male teachers,head teachers are higher than ordinary teachers,educational background is positively correlated with emotional exhaustion,while teaching length is negatively correlated with emotional exhaustion.The depersonalization level of junior high school English teachers in Chongqing is generally low,among which the unmarried teachers are more serious,and the head teachers have a lower degree of depersonalization.The higher the education level,the more significant the depersonalization degree is.The personal accomplishment of junior high school English teachers in Chongqing is high,especially the head teachers,but the personal achievement of unmarried teachers is low.Teacher’s professional title has no significant effect on burnout degree.Therefore,the job burnout of junior high school English teachers in Chongqing is not serious.On the basis of the research results,the author puts forward some suggestions for the phenomenon of job burnout of junior high school English teachers in Chongqing:strengthen social attention to teachers,establish a teacher organization support system,reasonably guide teachers’ personal adjustment,and improve teachers’ professional quality.There are many reasons for the job burnout of junior high school English teachers in Chongqing.Therefore,the society,schools and teachers themselves should work together to solve this problem.
