A Study Of Children’s Images In Chinese Children’s TV Dramas Since The New Century

This paper studies the image of children in Chinese children’s TV plays since the new century by using the theories of narrative,semiotics and children psychology.This paper first defines the concept of children and children TV series,then analyzes the children image of domestic children TV series since the new century from three aspects: the type presentation,construction mode and the realistic metaphor behind the construction of children’s image.The first chapter sorts out and sums up the types of children’s images in domestic children’s TV dramas since the new century,and divides them into three types: the image of little hero changing from collective symbol to individual symbol,the image of "good" children with multiple connotations under the evaluation standard of the times,the image of children truly shaped by children’s nature,and the image of children with psychological alienation under external stimulation.The emergence and development of any artistic image is the product of the times,which will undoubtedly be affected by the political,economic and cultural trends of the times.Domestic children’s TV play is a type of TV play created and dominated by adults.As the main shaping and performance object of domestic children’s TV play,the shaping of children’s image will inevitably be affected by the background of the times and cultural context.In the new century,the domestic children’s TV plays show the respect for children and the progress of children’s view.The second chapter analyzes the construction of children’s image in domestic children’s TV series since the new century from four aspects: behavior style,body narrative,gender role building and intergenerational relationship.As an art of second creation,TV is not only a window to reappear and express the society,but also the content of its expression and reappearance is constantly screened,processed and refined.Therefore,the image of children in domestic children’s TV plays has been reconstructed after screening,processing and refining.Since the new century,the children’s images in domestic children’s TV plays mainly show children’s pursuit of dreams and growth in the way of behavior,while the parents and teachers in the play are mostly the obstacles or pressure on the way of children’s growth or pursuit of dreams,rarely as helpers.As a cultural symbol with multiple references,children’s body consciously or unconsciously participates in and bears the expression of the national mainstream ideology.Since the new century,children’s bodies in domestic children’s TV plays have been marked.In various practical activities,children’s bodies not only show the inheritance of the national mainstream culture,but also show the struggle and resistance under the social discipline.In the shaping of children’s gender roles,domestic children’s TV plays since the new century not only show the social expectation of children’s gender roles under the traditional gender education,but also show the new possibilities under the concept of Androgyny education.With the impact of mass culture and foreign culture on people’s thoughts and concepts,the gap of ideas and thinking between generations is growing,and the following contradictions and conflicts are also increasing.Since the beginning of the new century,the intergenerational relationship of domestic children’s TV plays has shown a state of attachment,loss and resistance.The third chapter analyzes the realistic metaphors behind the construction of children’s images in domestic children’s TV plays since the new century.As a special group,children are not only the transfer place of parents and people from all walks of life,but also the value preservation place for people to resist all kinds of instability and possibilities brought by the rapid development of society.As the main object of shaping and performance of domestic children’s TV series,the image construction of children not only reflects the mutual friction and conflict,mutual penetration and reference between multi cultures,but also reflects the mutual game between gender roles and social gender role expectations.At the same time,the domestic children’s TV play,as a type of TV play dominated and created by adults,also hides the public’s consumption imagination of childhood and children’s body.In a word,since the new century,the image of children in domestic children’s TV plays not only comes from reality and reconstructs the audience’s cognitive system and ideology,but also,as a carrier,conforms to children’s living conditions,social status quo,social expectations and modern public’s ethical and moral concepts since the new century.
