| This paper takes the 16 dialects[Yueqing(乐清),Rui’an(瑞安),Tiantai(天台),Shengzhou(嵊州),Lishui(丽水),Quzhou(衢州),Changxing(长兴),Zhuji(诸暨),Dongyang(东阳),Haiyan(海盐),Yuhang(余杭),Dinghai(定海),Suichang(遂昌),Ningbo(宁波),Qingyuan(庆元),Pujiang(浦江)]in the Zhejiang Dialect Resources Collection First Series(《浙江方言资源典藏·第一辑》),as materials, using speech analysis software to analyze the fundamental frequency of the tone of each dialect’s single word, and convert the pitch measurement unit from frequency(Hz)to Cent which is more commonly used in music research.According to the interval defined by the twelve equal temperament,we match different pitches to the notes, and the seven numbers from 1 to 7are used to represent different pitches, thus forming a new tone notation-the 7-degree scale. The 7-degree scale is to change the past 5-degree scale into a notation based on the sense of hearing, which can be calculated. In this way, some difficulties in the past mechanical analysis of the sonagram can be obtained and some phenomena will be explained. At the same time, this music-based 7-degree scale can reflect the correlation between dialect tones and local folk songs or other forms of music, providing a new perspective for the study of dialects and regional culture, and enlightening the research of the relationship between language and music. This paper is divided into six parts:The first part is the introduction, which summarizes the main methods and the current progress of the study of Chinese tones. And also includes the source of the material, theoretical basis, methods and experimental process of our research. The second part is the experimental research on the single word tones of Taihu(太湖)and Taizhou(台州)dialect sections and their tone numerical values with 7-degree scale. The third part is the experimental research on the single word tones of Shangli(上丽),Oujiang(瓯江)and Jinqu(金衢)dialect sections, and their tone numerical values with7-degree scale. The fourth part is an explanation of the mechanism of tonal hearing, focusing on the role of pitch difference in tonal distinction. The fifth part is to explore the correlation between the tones of dialects and the tunes of folk music, using the dialect tone pattern described by the 7-degree scale. The sixth part is the conclusion, summarizing the results and significance of this research,as well as the prospect of possible future work. |
