| Infant observation training is a kind of training program for counselors. The trainees enter the infant family to observe, which can help the observers better reflect and improve their emotion control ability and professional skills. The purpose of this study is to explore the experience and gain of the trainees after the infant observation training and their changes over time,as well as the differences between the trainees with different degrees of completion and their gains, and the obstacles in the process of training are also analyzed. This study is divided into three parts.Study 1 used the questionnaire survey method to learn the characteristics of 39 subjects, using the pre-test and post test design, measured in three time periods, respectively,at the beginning of the training,in the middle of the training, and after the training. At the beginning of the training, the video assessment of mentalization was used to measure the mentalization of the trainees, and the inventory of personality organization was used to measure the personality organization level of the trainees. At the middle and end of the training, the mentalization of the trainees was measured. In study 2,qualitative research method was used to conduct semi-structured interviews with five trainees at the end of training(T1),three months after training(T2)and 18 months after training(T3).The results show that the training effect of infant observation is mainly in the following two aspects: 1)promotion of psychological counseling ability and technology.2)Get personal growth.Three months after the training, the trainees will continue to internalize the attitude and ability of psychoanalysis;the ability improvement in psychotherapy practice still exists;the experience promotion of learning from experience can still promote the trainees to understand the theory;the growth of personality and interpersonal relationship still exists.18 months after the end of the training, the trainees said that their personal growth is still continuing, and can precipitate and integrate the effect of infant observation training, and expand the effect of infant observation training. At the end of the training, the study conducted semi-structured interviews with 11 trainees who did not find infants or interrupted observation. The results showed that participating in some infant observation training can also promote the integration of trainees’ knowledge, help internalize psychoanalytic attitude and help psychological counseling technology. The process of finding a baby and participating in a steering group can also bring benefits to trainees. In the part of quantitative research,I further analyzed the mentalization of trainees measured at three time points in Study 1.The results showed that infant observation training could increase the mentalization of trainees, but there was no significant difference. In the third study, qualitative research and quantitative analysis were combined to sort out and analyze the semi-structured interview data of 11 trainees who did not find the baby or interrupted the observation, code the obstacles in the training of trainees who did not find the baby or interrupted the observation, and compare the obstacles encountered by 5 trainees who completed the training and accepted the interview. The results show that the obstacles of the unfinished trainees include the motivation of their own issues, the fear of family obstacles, the lack of tolerance for setbacks, time problems and so on.And the reasons why the trainees did not find the baby were more focused on objective factors, such as time and work,or the male identity was not trusted. However, most of the interrupted trainees reported some intolerable negative emotional experiences, which led to withdrawal and interruption. The results of comparative analysis show that the trainees who have completed the training experience less negative emotions in the supervision, and whether the supervision can provide the trainees with a good space for reflection may be the key to whether they can complete the training. In the part of quantitative research,we further compared the mentalization and personality organization levels of 39 trainees measured in Study 1.The results showed that the trainees with different completion degrees had slightly different emotion recognition: those who failed to complete all the training scored higher in emotion recognition, but there was no difference in the dimension of emotion attribution,Therefore, those who did not complete the training experienced more intolerable emotions in infant observation, but they lacked matching attribution ability, which led to their failure to complete the training. In this study,we used the qualitative analysis method to explore the effect of the same mode training in social ecology systematically. The study can get the gain of the observation group training for the local trainees and the change after the training, and supplemented qualitative research through quantitative data.In addition,it explains the benefits of infant observation training program to trainees from a quantitative point of view, and discussed the obstacles encountered by trainees in training, and fills the blank of infant observation research. |
