"Semi-coloniality" is one of the important characteristics of Chinese modern literature.Compared with completely colonial countries such as the Philippines,India, and Burma,China’s "semi-colonial" nature determines the complex emotional attitudes of "I" when facing "others".The Chinese and Western cultures are no longer a simple binary opposition. On the contrary,it is full of longing, contradictions, pain, misunderstanding, resistance and other situations.Science fiction in the late Qing Dynasty was born in that very intercultural era.On the one hand,it used a posture of yearning to catch up to tell the words about "science","enlightenment" and "salvation";on the other hand,it used fantasy imagination.Returning to the national and traditional utopian world to construct oneself, the two constitute the inherent tension of science fiction. From this,we can explore how the "I" in the late Qing Dynasty reacted to foreign culture and how to deal with the relationship with the "other".The first chapter mainly discusses how "I" fell into the discourse style of"modernity" from the three links of time, space and characters, and convinced myself to counteract the resistance. The emergence of "aircraft" in science fiction novels in the late Qing Dynasty represented the necessary equipment for entering a modern and powerful country on the one hand, and on the other hand,it also contained the control and possession of time and the future under the support of evolutionary theory;and the extreme of space The local discourse with rebellious power has incorporated the traces of globalization in the utopian fantasy world, lacking local characteristics;at the same time, the image of foreign savior itself has the meaning of internal derogation of self, among which is the Japanese aspirational " The praise of "Yutaro" ignores his awkward position as an "intermediate" between China and the West, making it natural to imitate the "other".In short,in the process of distinguishing between the "urban West" and the"colonial West",people’s attention to the latter is often hidden under the great satisfaction brought by the former, and being close to the urban west means to alleviate the "colonial" brought about by it.Pain and anxiety. The second chapter discusses the extent to which the act of being close to the West in constructing its rational and glorious role has brought harm to the "colonized",mainly from the cultural and psychological perspectives. In the science fiction novels of the late Qing Dynasty, there was a description of the theme of "the end of the world".However,in the Western "doomsday theory",the argument that the destruction of the world was used as a cleansing agent of civilization toxins was selectively ignored and forgotten by Chinese intellectuals, and Eastern culture was trapped. In the discourse style of backwardness, waiting to be rescued, and anxiety, together with the West,it is heading towards destruction;on the psychological level,it is the phenomenon of the separation of body and soul."My" body is weak and ill, representing tradition, decay, and evil.It is constantly being disciplined and transformed by modern technology such as sound, light, electricity, and air.The noble soul has to abandon the body and go to heaven and earth alone.Forget the physical hurt and pain to find a way out,and even hope to return to the glorious place of ancient Chinese culture to be liberated, but it is destined to be unable to avoid the situation of being alone under the trend of globalization history, revealing the contradictions, pains and tears of "I" Incisively and vividly.Chapter Three discusses the active and rebellious forces from the regional culture from the perspective of "de-colonization".The characteristic of "semi-colonial" constantly reminds us that the cultural and conceptual dismantling, elimination, and erasure of colonial influence are not as simple and rude politically. On the contrary, the mixed cultural atmosphere of China and the West gives "me" the freedom to grow up.Therefore, the focus of discussion is the posture and effect of the deconstruction behavior. This chapter starts from the perspectives of cultural revival, war introspection, and scientific critique, and observes the connotation of the “decolonization” behavior in the late Qing Dynasty. There are narrow criticisms similar to nationalism, and it also reproduces the current "I" being bullied by foreign powers. On the cruel side of the war, there was even a critical perspective from the "postmodern" perspective, reflecting on the harm caused by colonial behaviors to the local people. No matter what method, this chapter aims to answer the "salvation" movement in the late Qing Dynasty. The problem of the relationship between "me" and "other" has been reshaped. The first three chapters examine how the "I" views others from the perspective of"I",then the fourth chapter is about how "I" view the self. When Western discourse flooded in,the unconscious/conscious misappropriation and borrowing of Western discourse by "I" itself constituted a process of copying and colonization. The repressive discourse power on gender and class obtained here is still no longer a "salvation.""The narrative is so simple. This chapter examines the two levels of gender and intellectual translation. To a certain extent,"Occidentalism" has helped men gain the power to counter the official liberating discourse. However,it is this behavior that in turn constitutes double gender castration for men;knowledge The creation and translation of molecules is not only on the literary level, but also on the political power.Combined with Bourdieu’s theory,he tried to analyze the issue of alternative colonial power behind the borrowing of Western discourse in science fiction novels in the late Qing Dynasty. The above describes the complicated attitudes of science fiction novels in late Qing Dynasty towards the other through the connection with the cultural context of“semi-coloniality”.The self and the other,Chinese and Western cultures are entangled and ambiguous in this space, colonization There is no longer a simple oppression/resistance between the colonized and the colonized. They ebb and flow. This kind of contradictory tension constitutes the prerequisite for the occurrence of modern Chinese literature and connects the discourse of the May Fourth Enlightenment. This is the semi-colonial Chinese literature. The deep meaning of.
