With the continuous enhancement of China’s comprehensive national strength,more and more people are learning Chinese.Although the existential sentence is only a part of the whole grammar system,as a key sentence pattern,whether in the ontological study of modern Chinese or in the whole teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,its position can not be underestimated.However,due to the syntactic structure and language features of existential sentences,the grammatical project of existential sentences is difficult not only in the ontological study of modern Chinese,but also in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.In teaching Chinese as a foreign language,existential sentences are used not only as key sentence patterns in textbooks,but also as common sentence patterns in daily communication,which is also the focus and difficulty of students’ learning.This paper chooses the widely used and popular "developing Chinese" as the research object,and makes a sentence-by-sentence analysis of the sentences in 6 volumes of textbooks.Eight types of existential sentences actually used in "developing Chinese" are screened and counted from 6 volumes of textbooks.Then,with reference to the General syllabus for International Chinese Teaching(revised version),and combined with the frequency of these eight sentence patterns in "developing Chinese",six types of existential sentences are finally determined and further investigated.This paper examines the selected six types of existential sentences from two aspects: on the one hand,the selection and ranking of these six types of existential sentences in the Development of Chinese,and the presentation of various sections in the textbook;on the other hand,it examines the grammatical explanation of the four types of existential sentences that appear in the textbook as grammar points.Through the above research and analysis,it is found that there are still some problems in the arrangement and teaching of the existential sentences of "developing Chinese".For example,although "developing Chinese" basically achieves the organic combination of the form,function and typical context of existential sentences,however,the arrangement of existential sentences does not fully reflect the teaching principle of gradual and orderly progress,and there are still some problems,such as over-reliance on formal method for teaching,weak practice intensity,insufficient function of existential sentences and typical context,and so on.Finally,in view of the characteristics and existing problems of the arrangement of the existential sentences of "developing Chinese",this paper puts forward some corresponding teaching suggestions for the existential sentences of "developing Chinese".
