With the continuous enhancement of the country’s comprehensive strength and the continuous improvement of the social environment,our people have a deeper demand for education.Now the country pays more and more attention to the implementation of quality education,attaches importance to the cultivation of primary and secondary school students’ innovation ability,and intends to reserve diversified talents for the long-term development of the country.As an important place of educational practice,school is in a significant stage of educational transformation.Respecting the development of students’ personality,giving students the right to choose,and paying attention to the cultivation of students’ comprehensive strength are the important direction of basic education at this stage.Under the background of the college entrance examination and the curriculum reform,many schools try to adopt the "Class Selection System"."Class Selection System" refers to a teaching mode in which the subjects,classrooms and teachers are fixed,while the students choose their own classes according to their abilities and interests.Different levels of classes have different teaching contents and requirements,and the teaching method,the difficulty of homework and examination are also different.This system abolishes the traditional administrative classes,and requires more students to manage themselves.Students do not have a fixed classroom,and one person owns a customized schedule.Its ultimate goal is to achieve fundamental changes in basic education by meeting students’ curriculum rights and learning rights.The reform of the system will inevitably challenge the traditional mode of education.From the perspective of teachers’ teaching,facing the major changes brought about by "Small Class" and "Internet +",teachers must make necessary changes based on their own professional skills.The high requirements for classroom efficiency under the class system help to urge teachers to grow and improve their professional ability;the use of Internet tools of "Smart Class" helps teaching break through the limitations of space and time;teachers’ educational philosophy and evaluation of students tend to be more scientific and objective.For students,they think that the system helps to improve their autonomous learning ability,self-management ability and the effect of learning English,and enhance their self-confidence.For teachers,the existing problems are the lack of rationality of learning curriculum;the sharp increase of teachers’ workload but no better ways to solve the problem;the relatively slim learning opportunities;the increasing difficulty of student management;and the poor teaching effect of backward students.For students,the main problems they are faced with are the handing in of homework,the solution of clearance problems,the solution of learning doubts and the negative impact of electronic equipment on learning.The author,as an English teacher in a school with "Class Selection System" for six years,tries to explore the English teaching from four aspects after consulting a large number of documents and combining her own practical experience.This paper uses the methods of literature research,experience summary,comparative research and questionnaire survey.Firstly,it expounds the concept of "Class Section System" and the setting of English Curriculum in Junior Middle School.Then,it takes the case of Paotongshu middle school as an example to show the practical changes in English teaching,followed by two questionnaires for teachers and students in Paotongshu middle school.Next,it analyzes the questionnaire results of the teachers and students in Paotongshu Middle School,and finds that students and teachers have a high degree of recognition of the Class Selection System,which also shows the advantages and problems of English teaching.Finally,in view of the above problems,the author points out that learning can be designed from three aspects: optimizing curriculum management,optimizing teacher management and optimizing student management.For the course management,it is suggested that schools should fully investigate the students’ wishes,and scientifically provide courses that students are interested in and willing to participate in,so as to give full play to the effectiveness of the courses.At the same time,the school should increase the class hours of basic compulsory courses to ensure the students’ English foundation.And increase self-study class hours to give students more independent planning time.For the management of teachers,it is suggested that the school should establish a reasonable quantitative assessment system to balance the workload of teachers.Through the organization of school "Teaching Competition","Expert Lectures" and other activities to provide more learning channels for teachers.For student management,it is suggested that the school should issue specific rules and regulations of student management and strictly implement them.And training students for the scientific use of electronic products-tablet.On the basis of clarifying the basic connotation and theoretical elements of course selection and class walking,this paper analyzes the advantages and problems existing in English teaching by taking a case school as an example,and tries to provide some targeted and operable solutions.
