| The characters of the Warring States Period inherited the Spring and Autumn bronze inscriptions,and the Qin and Han seals,the Warring States Period occupies animportant position in the development history of Chinese characters,there are many weapons inscriptions.Due to regional and cultural differences,weapons inscriptions need to be divided into regions.He Linyi once divided the characters of the Warring States Period into five series:Qi,Yan,Jin,Chu,and Qin characters.We taking the weapons inscriptions of Jin as the research object,based on Wu Zhenfeng’s The Collection of Inscriptions and Images on Bronze Inscriptions of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties and its sequel,exhaustive collection of the weapons inscriptions of Jin in the Warring States Period,according to the inscriptions on the painting,structure,style and other aspects of the characteristics,organize into a glyph table,it also traces back to the inscriptions on oracle bones of the Shang Dynasty,the inscriptions of the Western Zhou Dynasty and the inscriptions of the Spring and Autumn Period,study its diachronic evolution law,and observed the unique characteristics of the weapons inscriptions of Jin in the Warring States Period,in order to provide solid and reliable dating materials for the history of the development of Chinese characters,and to make a supplement for the research on the history of Chinese characters,and help to understand the regional and epochal characteristics of the Jin characters in the Warring States Period.This paper is divided into four chapters:The first chapter starts with the research objects and materials,research status,research significance and research methods,sort out the research ideas of this article,and grasps the research direction as a whole,then it makes relevant explanations about some issues ofdissertation.The second chapter sorts out the weapons inscriptions of Jin in the Warring States Period,firstly,324 pieces of the weapons inscriptions of Jin in the Warring States Period are sorted out from The Collection of Inscriptions and Images on Bronze Inscriptions of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties(vol.30-34)and its sequel(vol.4),through the words "identify the same and distinguish the difference",sort out 792 single words and 22 combined words.secondly,sorted out and classified the same character with different writing and the character with different structures,different writing characters are divided into two types: different writing caused by differences in strokes and different writing caused by differences in components,different structures characters are divided into two types:different structures with different configuration reasons and different structures with the same configuration but different components;finally,we sorted out a list of single characters and presented them in the appendix.The third chapter analyzes the evolution of the shape of the weapons inscriptions of Jin in the Warring States Period,and compares it with the inscriptions on oracle bones of the Shang Dynasty,the inscriptions of the Western Zhou Dynasty and the inscriptions of the Spring and Autumn Period,the rules of its shape evolution are classified into three categories:simplification,multiplication and dissimilation,each category is further divided into several sub-categories:simplification is divided into strokes simplification,component simplification,concentrate simplification,borrow simplification;multiplication is divided into nonsense multiplication and sense multiplication;dissimilation is divided into strokes dissimilation,component dissimilation,orientation dissimilation,special symbol.The fourth chapter from the diachronic and synchronic two dimensions,with other era characters and other series of the weapons inscriptions as a contrast,and draws out the epochal and regional characteristics of the weapons inscriptions of Jin in the Warring States Period.The fifth chapter summarizes the evolutionary laws and characteristics of the weapons inscriptions of Jin in the Warring States Period.There are three main types of evolution:simplification,multiplication and dissimilation,of which simplification is the most numerous;it is characterized by the presence of more complex characters with unusual shapes,strong randomness in writing,and a tendency to bend the strokes.The appendix at the end of the paper are "Abbreviation List of Cited Books" "the table of weapons of Jin in Warring States Period" and "the table of the weapons inscriptions of Jinin Warring States Period" for reference. |
