| Process Philosophy has become an important genre in modern Western philosophy, but the process thought is far from a long history.Engels inherited Heraclitus process view of “Nothing is motionless,as everything is flowing” and criticized Hegel’s idealist dialectic. He put forward the important argument that “The world is a collection of processes”,which was in direct opposition to the rigid metaphysical world view, presenting a new worldview and methodological principles.Firstly, the paper systematically discusses the theoretical source of Engels’ process view, and sorts out the main content of Engels’ process view.Engels redefined materialism and idealism as well as their relations, achieved the unity of thinking and existence to get rid of traditional philosophy dualism, and opened up a new philosophical path;Secondly, the paper demonstrates Engels’ process view from major process dimensions including nature, society and thoughts, and points out that the essence of his process view is dialectics; The paper explains the similar philosophical dimensions between Engels’ process view and Whitehead’s process philosophy, highlighting the contemporary nature of Engels’ process dialectic thinking; Finally, the theoretical value and real value of Engels’ process view are explored. The proposal of Engels’ process view is not only the innovation and contribution to Marxist philosophy, but also the ideological power that must be mastered by the proletariat for understanding and promoting the historical process of the world. This paper expounds Engels’ process view from his philosophical literature using the text analysis method;summarizes the generation and development of Engels’ process view based on Engels’ natural dialectics using systematic research methods;explores Engels’ process view and clarifies the basic connotation of his process view through his criticism of metaphysical thinking mode and Hegel’s idealist dialectics using comparison analysis methods. |
