A Study On Plant Aesthetics In A Dream Of Red Mansions

A dream of red mansions is a collection of Chinese classical novels,known as the encyclopedia of Chinese culture,and also a collection of plant aesthetic culture,which embodies the aesthetic characteristics and ideological implications of Chinese classical plant aesthetics.The aesthetic characteristics of plants are the attributes endowed by people,and they are secondary.Therefore,plant aesthetics is a specific cognitive mode of plants formed by human beings in long-term social production practice.This paper selects the plant aesthetics in a dream of red mansions as the research object,analyzes the plant writing in a dream of red mansions and the relationship between the life and temperament of plants and characters in the novel,and discusses the aesthetic characteristics of plants from the perspective of ancient culture.The study of plant aesthetics provides important reference value for us to understand and deal with the relationship between human and nature.The paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter studies the aesthetic characteristics of plants from the perspective of daily life.From the perspective of medicine,plants play an important role in people’s life with their medicinal properties,which are mainly shown in two aspects in the novel.First,the medicinal properties of plants and the recuperation of people are carried out from the aspects of the cultivation of people.Secondly,in the process of curing diseases and exploring the causes of diseases,the personality temperament of characters plays an important role in the development of diseases.Therefore,the temperament of characters can be seen from the medicinal materials they eat.From the perspective of diet,it is mainly manifested in two aspects.First,diet should conform to the season of nature,which reflects the harmonious relationship between diet and nature.Secondly,diet should conform to people’s constitution,which reflects the harmonious relationship between diet and people.In a word,whether it is medicine or diet,adjust the internal relationship between plants and human body,to achieve the effect of harmony and health.The second chapter studies the aesthetic characteristics of plants from the perspective of garden structure,mainly from the relationship between garden and nature,garden and the occupant.First,from the perspective of the relationship between garden plants and nature,the overall layout of plants in the garden is in harmony with the buildings,mountains and waters in the surrounding environment,thus creating the beauty of natural harmony.The arrangement of plants in the garden is also characterized by diversity and multiple levels.In the selection of plants,there are four views,and the actual state of nature is restored.The second is from the perspective of the integration of garden plants and residents.There are many courtyards in the grand view garden,which are different from each other in terms of the characteristics of plant landscape,forming a distinctive courtyard style.In the construction of the overall garden environment,the grand view garden follows the principle of combining the personality of people and the characteristics of plants,so as to realize the garden concept of "integration of people and gardens".The third chapter studies the aesthetics of man and plants from the perspective of literary and artistic expression.This part develops from two aspects: first,the plant poetry predicts the character’s temperament and destiny.The judgment baoyu sees in the unreal world is a metaphor for the fate of twelve hairpins,which implies the fate of the characters through the state of plants and the judgment.Qunfang opens the banquet when the character draws the flower sign and the corresponding verse,these plants and the character’s disposition complement each other.Secondly,the creation of plant poetry highlights the personality of characters."The style is mainly composed of qi",and the poems reflect the temperament and personality of the characters to some extent.Plants and human empathy,into each other’s soul,also achieve empathy.The fourth chapter summarizes the aesthetic implication of plants in a dream of red mansions.The relationship between characters and plants in the novel,from the daily medical diet to the planting of plants in the courtyard,and then to the expression of plants in the literary creation,the relationship between characters and plants is integrated.The intercommunication and integration of physical nature and human nature had a profound theoretical basis in ancient China.About the origin of everything in the universe.Ancient philosophy holds that all things originate from qi,and that no matter the characters or the plants,they are born under the influence of qi.It is precisely based on the homology of all things that people and plants can communicate with each other,so that people and plants can feel and empathize with each other,thus forming the cognitive mode of induction theory.The treatment of the relationship between man and plant in the novel is of great value in today’s ecological civilization.
