The Research Of Shen Tingfang And His Poetry

Shen Tingfang was born in Kangxi Dynasty,active in Yongzheng and Qianlong Dynasty poetic circles,who was learned to write poetry with Zha Shenxing at youth and had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances,he also had an intimate relationship with lots of well-known scholars at that time.This paper starts with the discussion of Shen Tingfang’s family background and his life experiences,then analyses his poetry contents and poetics criticism,which is mainly divided into four parts.The first chapter researches Shen Tingfang’s family background,in order to reveal his growth environment and which cultural he had accepted,then combing Shen Tingfang’s life experiences roughly.Shen Tingfang’s father had taught him to abide by Confucian tradition since his childhood,therefore pursued to serve the country and people all his lifetime.The second chapter analyses Shen Tingfang’s significant intercourse,and classifies the literati that he associated into four categories,which are family relatives,Zhejiang countrymen,teacher and friends in capital and intimate party-followers and students.Shen Tingfang’s intercourse can also provide the background of analyse his poetry contents and sources.The third chapter reveals which poetry concepts and creation tendencies that influenced Shen Tingfang’s poetry writting,and discusses his poetry sources.This chapter also summarizes Shen Tingfang’s poetry critical tendencies by means of the poetic prefaces that he had written for his friends.The fourth chapter firstly classifies Shen Tingfang’s poetry into five categories,then analyses the poetry contents through his life trajectory and discusses the main characteristics of Shen Tingfang’s poetry integrally.In addition,this paper also includes an appendix with a chronicle of Shen Tingfang’s life to reveal his whole life track and elaborate intercourse.
