Wang Shunan is a famous statesman and master of literature and history in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.The existing research on Wang Shunan’s literature focuses on the introduction of poetry content and lacks theoretical explanation,so there is still room for further research.The thesis consists of the following parts.The introduction part mainly summarizes the relevant achievements of Wang Shunan’s life experience,academic works and literary creation.Based on the extensive inspection of the above achievements,it combs various viewpoints to make a retrospective review.The first chapter is about Wang Shunan’s family background.This paper examines Wang Shunan’s chronology,Tao Lu old man’s chronology,relevant historical books and local chronicles,clarifies Wang Shunan’s family background,excavates his family’s academic origin supported by Confucian tradition and literary tradition,and provides a family tradition with the practice standard of governing the water and running the world,being filial and doing good.By restoring the original ecological environment of Wang Shunan’s family,we can see the origin of Wang Shunan’s academic and literature.Wang Shunan’s life experience,his friendship can be roughly divided into three periods.Through the study of Wang Shunan’s friendship,we can not only find out the relationship network established by his grandparents,teachers and students in the same year,official friendship,literati associations and other ways,but also explore the influence of the above friendship on Wang Shunan’s thought and creation.It can also be used to investigate the value keeping of the Confucian intellectuals who formed the communication circle with Wang Shunan as the center in the traditional social changes,especially at the time of the great revolution.The third chapter is the study of Wang Shunan’s poetry.In his prefaces and postscripts and commentaries,Wang Shunan’s poetics is studied.Through intensive reading of Wang Shunan’s wenmoshi poetry anthology and Tao Lu poetry sequel,we can see that Wang Shunan takes writing the history of poetry as the general tone of his creation.According to the poet’s life experience,this paper discusses the characteristics of poetry creation by stages.In his long poetry creation,Wang Shunan dominated the Tang Dynasty in the early stage,the Song Dynasty in the middle stage,and the boundary between Tang and Song Dynasty in the late stage has gradually blurred,showing the characteristics of eclectic Tang and Song Dynasty and not limited to the times.The fourth chapter is Wang Shunan’s identification as an ancient writer and his practical activities.The evaluation of Wang Shunan’s ancient prose by famous scholars is always associated with Tongcheng school,but whether Wang Shunan belongs to Tongcheng school is still controversial.This paper combs the causes of this problem in order to better understand the relationship between Wang Shunan and Tongcheng School in Qing Dynasty.Wang Shunan has made friends with Wu Rulun,Zhang Yuzhao,Ma Qichang,Yao yongpu,Yao yonggai,etc.by investigating the above friendship,this paper discusses the relationship between Wang Shunan and Tongcheng school,and tries to explore the spread and evolution of Tongcheng school.This paper discusses the two-way interaction between Wang Shunan and Tongcheng School in literature from two forms of anthology and comment.Tao Lu Wen Ji is an important literary work of Wang Shunan.This paper summarizes Wang Shunan’s views on ancient prose and investigates his practice of ancient prose creation,so as to explore the process of Wang Shunan’s transformation from parallel prose to ancient prose creation.The conclusion part summarizes the whole paper.Appendix:chronicle of Mr.Wang Shunan.On the basis of Wang Shunan’s chronology“he chronicle of the old man in Taolu”,Wang Shunan’s works,diaries,and slips,this paper comprehensively collects Wang Shunan’s relevant historical books,local chronicles,and his contemporaries’ poems,essays,and other materials,mentions important events,and confirms each other,so as to goule Wang Shunan’s lifelong political,academic,and literary activities.Through the above research,this paper defines Wang Shunan’s literary status,summarizes his status and role in Tongcheng school and Qing Dynasty literary world,and makes up for the lack of academic research in Tongcheng school and Qing Dynasty.
